It was great to hang somewhat close to home last month and through the holidays. Time spent with the family is indeed good for the soul!
The band played a couple of events for area Blues Societies –
Mohawk Valley (Utica, NY) and the Blues Society of Western NY (Buffalo, NY).
It was a special treat to do get back to playing some
laid-back acoustic gigs with my buddy, Mary Ann Casale too.
I was able to catch up on a couple important projects –
One is an intensive Blues Education program at Tapestry Charter School
in Buffalo (more on this to come – very exciting).
At Subcat Studios I began working up a batch of new songs for my next album – shooting for a September release on Subcat Records.
2018 ended in a flurry of activity. “Memphis Song” made several of the year-end best of lists and thankfully made its way to a few Christmas stockings too!
The New Year’s Eve Blues Bash in Pittsburgh was spectacular!
The Blues Society of Western Pennsylvania throws down one helluva party – dinner, open bar all night long, a midnight buffet and two acts.
It was so much fun to hear Miss Freddye’s Blues Band and to reprise our 2018 Blues Music Awards performance when she joined us on stage.
The big news is really about what lies ahead.
The band will launch a major tour on January 8th that wraps up in mid- March.
The tour brings the Souls to many new venues, debuting in some of the best clubs in the Southwest and all the way up the West Coast and into Canada.
Some new stops sure to be highlights include the Wang Dang Doodle Bash (Midland TX), The Rhythm Room (Phoenix AZ), Biscuits & Blues (San Francisco CA) and many more!
The tour kicks off with stops in some of our favorite spots like the Slippery Noodle (Indianapolis IN) and the annual IBC Kickoff Party at Uncle Bo’s (Topeka KS).
Check it out...We Hope To See You On The Road. Not Coming Your Way This Time, Send Us An Email And Tell Us Where You Want Us To Play!

Then its off to Memphis where we’ll be singing that Memphis Song
up and down Beale Street all week long!
As you can see, 2019 starts with a bang. Thanks to all your support and encouragement that helped make 2018 a very successful and enriching year.
And for 2019 I wish you all a very Happy Blues Year!
