Ah, there’s no place like home! It was delightful to return in early November after a great run. We had a blast making new friends and fans in Charlotte, NC where we played a Blues Society event at the Rabbit Hole.

Much thanks to our super fans Mike and Rose Armstrong for welcoming us into their home. We left well rested, well fed, our clothes well laundered! And in good cheer! There are supper fans everywhere who, by their kindness and generosity, make this traveling band thing doable. Thank you all!
The rest of the month was spent playing some area gigs as well as tackling some ongoing studio work at SubCat Studios (Syracuse, NY) and delving into a new songwriting project.
The Geneseo Riviera Theater (Geneseo, NY) was especially fun. I brought the full seven-piece band and performed an all-original set ahead of
John Nemeth’s stellar performance.

Had a funny exchange playing the dozens with John. Replying to his observation that we recently have made several appearances on the same bill:
I joked, “I figure if I’m following you around the country, that’s a good thing. Pretty soon I’ll be making the big bucks too!”
His response, “ Don't know about that, but it’s sure to be a good time.”
Indeed it is!
The big news I want to share is about the upcoming New Year’s Eve Blues Bash we will be playing. The Blues Society of Western Pennsylvania pulls out all the stops for this one! On the bill too is my friend, Miss Freddye.
Those who attended the 2018 Blues Music Awards in Memphis last May might remember that we performed together.

I am sure we will reprise that wondrous time. There are a few tickets left.

It’s not too early to start planning your trip to the 35th International Blues Challenge.
As I have done for the past 11 years, I’ll be hosting the Tuesday night Generation Blues Fundraiser Jam at the Rum Boogie and performing at various events throughout the week. Check out next month's newsletter for more details.

Speaking of Memphis, you all know I have a very special love for the city and all it means to the blues and music in general – so much that my last album is a testament to that very sentiment.
Memphis Song is still doing very well with great airplay, reviews and enthusiastic response from live audiences.
As some of you are aware, the 2019 Blues Music Awards nomination process is in its final stages. Of course, I am hopeful for a nod or two as I feel this is my best work yet. Its message, as conveyed in the title track, is honest and genuine and most of all resonates with everyone who has ever loved the blues – all of you who hear Memphis calling, “You been too long gone. Come on home and sing your Memphis song.”
Merry Christmas and Happy Blues Year ~ Tas
