Installation of the new galley: we need you!

A fantastic new galley area has been designed and costed and we are well on our way to purchasing and arranging installation. We need your DIY skills to reduce costs. Your help will enable funds to be redirected to things such as the purchase of a new oven or to help pay for critical maintenance happening on the pontoon. More about that in the next newsletter.

We need help with:
- building works (removal of galley hatch wall etc);
- dismantling and disposing of the old kitchen;
- installation of electrics (lots of sockets needed!);
- plumbing;
- installation of new units, which come pre-built;
- surface installation;
- cake baking and food provision for the volunteers;

If you can help in any way please contact Claire ( with your skillset and number of days you are willing to commit to. Once we have a rough idea of numbers we will look at some dates for dismantling and installation.

A big well done and thank you to Claire and her team for pulling the draft design together, ready for the next gen comm meeting. They have worked incredibly hard to turn design, feedback and quotes around very very quickly to take advantage of this period of non-use. They have created a much better open layout and we aim to install it before the summer. I've no doubt once it is installed, people will be clamoring to run social events just to get to use it!
