Thank you to all who made the AGM yesterday. It was brilliant to see so many faces and i'm really excited to be taking on the role of Commodore. We all know GSC is awesome. It isn't just a sailing club or a shared pastime but a community, a family. It's the first place we brought Edward (to a fantastic welcome) and the enthusiasm and positivity from club members definitely saw me through 2020. I'd really like to see our community spirit shared wider and that will be my main focus for my term.
We have a few things ready to get on with at GSC but if you have any suggestions please talk to me or any member of the general committee. It is helpful to have input and new ideas - often they are the hardest to come up with! We'll be asking for help as soon as allowed to do some maintenance around the club - ideally we want this all done so that we can enjoy the sailing season to the max! We also have plans to upgrade the website - any comments on spec welcome. More info will follow in future communications...
For those who didn't make the AGM, i've set every member a challenge for 2021! Yep - you as well! In 2021, I challenge each of you to bring a non-member to GSC for a sail. It can be a friend, a colleague, a neighbour - anyone! It can be to any event. If you aren't sure which either go for a dink about day or ask me. I'll get any visitor out on the water.
