Thanksgiving: as Americans, it’s one of our favorite holidays. And as activists, it’s one of the most important actions we can take. For amid our struggles, it reminds us of our blessings. And reminded of our blessings, we are re-inspired to keep fighting.
This November, the Women’s Caucus is thankful for all the Democratic victories in the midterms — and particularly for the triumphs of a record-breaking number of Democratic women, whose diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives will help make America a better, safer and fairer place for all.
We are also grateful to women voters, both in the US and abroad, whose votes and voices made loud and clear that America deserves better, and is ready for change.
Most of all, we are especially grateful to our fellow Women’s Caucus members, whose hard work helped drive unprecedented interest in the midterms among US voters abroad, while being a source of support, solidarity and inspiration the whole year through.
Earlier this month, Women’s Caucus members gathered to celebrate these blessings and more at our Thanksgiving potluck. This week, we invite all our members to continue the celebration at our last meeting of the year, where we’ll toast to the midterms and start preparing for the work that lies ahead.
If you haven’t already, please RSVP for our meeting this Wednesday, November 21, 6:30-9pm (and also check out some of the other cool events we have coming up). Looking forward to seeing you there, and thanks again for all you do and are!
