Frequently Asked Questions at Coderix During COVID 19

Q: Are you open?
A: Yes, Coderix is open. The operating hours are the same as always. Details are on our website.

Q: Do I have to come to clinic to be cared for?
A: No, you do not have to attend in-person.(*) We have instituted ways for you to be cared for by telephone, or by video-conference.

Q: What about my 'carries'? Don't I need to leave a urine test?
A: No, we are using a temporary protocol to extend most 'carry doses' without the need for urine testing. We can do this over the phone. Safe storage requirements for carry doses still apply.

Q: What have you done about COVID in your clinic?
A: If you do come to clinic in-person, you will find that we have re-organized the waiting room and clinic rooms to facilitate social distancing. We are streamlining patient
flow to prioritize minimum time spent in the waiting area. There is hand hygiene available throughout. We have a separate room where any COVID screen positive patients can receive care. Staff will not be working in-person if they have any symptoms.

Q: What if I am sick?
A: Please call before coming, so that we can advise you on what to do.

Q: What if the Coderix staff and doctors get sick?
A: We have instituted ways for the staff and doctors to help you remotely, even if they are quarantined at home.

Q: What about my therapy?
A: Scheduled sessions for individual Acceptance and Commitment Therapy will continue - and these are all moving on-line.

Q: What about my groups?
A: Sadly, we are pausing the Women's Group for the duration of the COVID Crisis. If you would be interested in an on-line version, let us know. If there is enough interest, we will see what we can do.

Q: I'm really worried and I don't know what to do.
A: Call us: 416 640 2384

(*) there may still be a few situations where - for your safety and well-being - we do need to see you in person to deliver the best quality care. Call first, and we will tell you if this is the case.
Message from the Medical Director

Hello,

The above image is a sunrise over Lake Ontario, from a couple of weeks ago. I took this early one morning, on the Leslie Street Spit. Notice that however long and cold the winter might be, the sun rises each day, and eventually spring arrives.

At this hard time, make room for your difficult thoughts. Be present in the precise moment that you are reading this, and all the moments to come.

Do what matters.

Yours with care,

Dr. Vincent Lam
