Hello to Didsbury!
First of all, many thanks to the residents of Didsbury for the incredibly warm welcome. Since my first day on Monday, December 3, I have been greeted by well-wishes and smiling faces. I am so pleased to have made Didsbury my new home and have the opportunity to work with such an accomplished and friendly library team.
A little about me:
· I have a passion for public libraries and my past library work experience includes Sylvan Lake, Edmonton, Airdrie, and Banff
· My education is a smattering of everything: Theatre, English, and Library and Information Studies. I was addicted to the learning process and could not seem to quit!
· I believe libraries are essential to thriving communities and our collections, services, and programs should be tailored to the needs of our patrons
· My door is open! I welcome meeting my new neighbors so please stop by and let me know what the library means to you
The principle reason I took this position was because the Didsbury Municipal Library is a happening place. No membership fees or overdue fines, innovative and exciting programs, a fabulous and well-equipped Makerspace, a supportive and library-loving community, and the amazing and creative staff that holds it all together. It does not get much better than this and I look forward to contributing to the future success of such a beloved and community-led institution.
For now, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
