I’m writing to let you know that I’m supporting Andrea Campbell for Attorney General, and will be casting my ballot for this incredible leader on September 6th.
In my time on the Boston City Council, Andrea was a mentor to me, she carried herself as a thoughtful and pragmatic leader. I am proud to support her in this race.
Andrea grew up in Roxbury with a childhood filled with incredible instability. She lost both her biological parents and twin brother at a young age. Yet, she turned that pain into purpose and a career in public service.
As a lawyer, she has represented children for free and pushed for regional and racial equity working as legal counsel in Governor Deval Patrick’s Administration. Andrea knows what it takes to deliver real progress for constituents. She has served on the Boston City Council and as Boston City Council President, sponsoring and passing legislation to create more affordable housing and increase transparency and accountability in public safety agencies.
As Attorney General, she will continue her fight by protecting consumers when prices go up, keeping our kids safe at home and school, and defending our civil rights and access to reproductive care across Massachusetts. I know Andrea will be an AG who shows up, listens to our community, and does everything she can to protect and advocate for the people of Massachusetts.
Andrea’s people-powered campaign has earned the support of Attorney General Maura Healey, former AGs Frank Bellotti, Martha Coakley, Scott Harshbarger, and Jim Shannon, more than 100 local, statewide and congressional elected officials, Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts, SEIU State Council representing more than 115,000 service workers, and so many more.
