Hello Divers,

Future thinkers, future work, future leaders - all our events this week seem to be about the future... (It's a coincidence, we promise.)

Still, they're all fascinating events if you want the inside scoop on Australia and the IT world in 2050! (And they wouldn't look bad on LinkedIn either.)

Tip of the week, from Marcus: "If you're looking for something real specific on Google (like an exact phrase or year), venturing into the second page in desperation...worry not! This neat syntax guide has got you covered."

Cheers,
The diversIT Newsletter Team

The Future is Female (founders) | Panel Discussion

The tech scene in Australia is ripe for entrepreneurship - but is it balanced? The Generator - Monash's startup department - has the scoop.

Girl gang, gather for our second panel discussion designed for female founders.

With just 28% of Victorian startup founders being female, and a minuscule 2.2% of US venture capital funding going to exclusively female-founded companies (vs 76% exclusively male founded), there is a blatantly obvious gender imbalance in the startup ecosystem.

The Generator is here to support you on your journey to overcome the challenges you face in the startup ecosystem as a female, and help create a network to celebrate each other's successes.

Hear from special guests Christie Morgan (Director of Pitch Studios and Community Facilitator at Future Girl Corp Melbourne), Kati Elizabeth (Founder of GUCK, Creator of VU App Ranked #3 Education Apps in Google Play Store), and current Accelerator founder Claire Bristow (Her Society).

Date: Wednesday 28 August
