Monadnock International Film Festival

The Monadnock International Film Festival is a four-day event held every April that showcases high quality independent cinema from filmmakers here at home and around the world. MONIFF offers feature length narrative and documentary films as well as shorts, and gives audiences the opportunity to interface with filmmakers and industry experts through post screening Q&A’s and lively panel discussions.

Fresh look at Andy Warhol & More 

Thorne Sagendorph Art Gallery
Opening Reception: Friday April 13th 5pm
160 Andy Warhol pieces will be on display at the Gallery in a show titled “cLIckCliQue: A Warhol Experience”. The exhibition includes hundreds of photographs donated to the Thorne by the Warhol estate. Andy Warhol was an obsessive photographer, driven artist, compulsive diarist, and an iconic yet deeply private cultural figure. These works offer a look into his world.
In addition, there will be a showcase of work created by 16 Keene State seniors who will earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Arts.

Seven Times Salt tours around Monadnock

The Monadnock Folklore Society presents the fourth in its series of English Country Dances with the theme “Dance Around Monadnock.” Hauntingly beautiful tunes, elegant yet simple steps, friendly people and beautiful surroundings combine to make an English Country Dance a pleasant and energizing experience. No special clothing is required, but comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended. Beginners and singles are welcome and all dances are taught throughout the session.

Join Seven Times Salt at the Headmaster's House at Aldworth Manor for a musical tour of 17th-century London. Songs from taverns, markets and well-appointed homes including music for the broken consort, a favored ensemble during Queen Elizabeth I’s reign. Our program includes splendid music from Thomas Morley’s First Booke of Consort Lessons; boisterous country dance tunes; and broadside ballads about epic battles, musicians making trouble, and that most perennial of all

Seven Times Salt brings the best of the Elizabethan tavern scene to the present day. In this program we present rousing drinking songs, love ballads both naughty and nice, rustic catches, and energetic country dances from around the British Isles, including plenty of opportunities for audience participation. (There are also some more refined selections to let you rest between bouts of revelry.) We’ll also toast William Shakespeare on the occasion of his 454th birthday. Raise your glass and voice and help fill the hall with music!

Join us in welcoming Sandra Neil Wallace on Independent Bookstore Day 2018 where she will be discussing and signing her latest book Between the Lines. Former ESPN sportscaster Sandra Neil Wallace and Caldecott Honor illustrator Bryan Collier tell the true story of NFL star Ernie Barnes, who became one of the most influential artists of his generation. Between the Lines tells an inspiring story of a man who made his mark in two very different worlds.
The first generation in her family to attend university, Wallace became a journalist, anchoring the network news before shattering the glass ceiling in sports television. She became the first woman to host an NHL broadcast on national TV.
