Our Long History of Immigration

Talk presented by the Historical Society of Cheshire County & The Cheshire Academy of Lifelong Learning in Keene, NH
Wednesday February 7th 7-9pm
This event is free and open to the public
Immigration is one of the defining issues of our time. But this issue is not new to the United States. Former Keene State College professor and chair of the Holocaust and Genocide Studies program at Keene State College, Paul Vincent will provide the historical foundation to understand the history of US policies on immigration, with particular emphasis on Franklin Roosevelt's administration.
"Virtually anyone who lives in the U.S. is descended from immigrant stock. That’s what sets America apart — we’re a nation founded on immigration. You can’t say the same thing about Europe, for example. When I see all the American athletes walk into the Olympics, I see a blend that represents that notion of America."- Presenter Dr. Paul Vincent
