Safe Facial Treatments you can do this Summer While Wearing a Mask

With the Covid-19 pandemic we are now moving into a phase of a long-term change in the way that society is going to function. Until the time we find a vaccine and get it to enough people around the world, and we develop immunity there’s got to be big changes and people are bracing for a new normal.
People have begun to focus more on the Non-Covid mask area around their eyes because that is the area that is highlighted now.

In the summer time in the midst of a more intense sun, we focus on treatments that involve very little downtime or open wounds nor procedures that make the skin more sensitive to sun-exposed skin darkening.
Some procedures which induce downtime, if done around the mouth, would be irritated by wearing a mask, or even worse, risk skin infections which could lead to complications.
Below, Dr Shelton advises on safe facial treatments you can do while wearing a mask:
1. Botox™ to relax the crows feet and frown lines
Botox™ is one of the first cosmetic treatments to return this summer as it takes less than five minutes to perform and typically target uncovered expanses such as forehead, crow’s feet, and glabella between the eyebrows.
Botox is one method of beautification that does not require months of preparation. This makes Botox a perfect cosmetic procedure for summer. Botox treatments are minimally invasive and require zero downtime, they won’t slow you down.

2. ThermiSmooth external radiofrequency skin tightening and collagen booster
ThermiSmooth is a non-invasive procedure which will help you regain a youthful look. It works on many different areas of the face including forehead, neck, jawline, chin, lips and lower eyelids. (ThermiSmooth can be safely done around the mouth and other areas despite masks being applied). ThermiSmooth is for anyone who wants to safely reduce wrinkles and minor skin texture issues of the face this summer!

3. Alastin topical therapy to prime collagen production  and improve elastic properties of the skin.
This is a restorative skin care treatment that helps maintain skin health for a vibrant, youthful appearance. It can help volumize and lift the aging skin, improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, helps the production of new healthy elastin and collagen and helps even the skin tone.
4. PicoSure focus skin lightening
PicoSure Laser improves the skin’s appearance and removes tattoos of all colors. It is a rejuvenation treatment which offers benefits such as reducing the appearance of sun damage and pigmented areas as well as reducing the lines, wrinkles and acne scars. PicoSure is ideal for the summer time, because it doesn’t need a preparation time nor downtime. It is a non-ablative technology which has minor side effects and less downtime than other lasers. Therefore you are able to go back to your normal routine quickly. Of course continued sunscreen is always a vital part of the rejuvenation program.

Considering that COVID-19 is a respiratory virus spread primarily through droplets in the air, the protocol on protective face coverings is arguably the most important. According to experts, all patients and staff must be wearing a mask at all times.
