For those of you who are considering an improvement of skin sagging, laxity, fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars there have been significant advances in Microneedling technology using radiofrequency energy that I have been using with very good results in the last half year.

Microneedling with radiofrequency has proven to be an important technology I have available to provide my patients to improve the skin’s integrity with minimal downtime.
If you are not aware, Microneedling is a tried and tested and safe way of promoting the growth of new collagen in your skin. The radiofrequency energy is delivered through the epidermis directly to the dermis, and in some cases to the deeper structures to encouraging your skin to become tighter. Usually it is a series of three monthly treatments. The downtime is minimal and unlike minimally invasive procedures such as ThermiTight™ and BodyTite™ there is no need for the areas to be injected with local anesthetic. It not only can rejuvenate the outer surface of your skin but can improve the infrastructure of the skin that becomes loose, sagging and crepey over time using.
The sterile microneedles are delivered via the Lutronic’s Genius™ or InMode’s Morpheus™ and the radiofrequency energy is delivered directly to the depth desired, heating the tissue and stimulating one’s fibroblast cells to produce more collagen. The layer of connective tissue that supports the skin as a sling can even be tightened directly in some anatomic areas.

Microneedling with RF is used for acne scars, “smokers’ lines” above and below the lips, generalized facial wrinkling, creases above the elbows and above the knees, and helps smoothen skin laxity on the thighs. It does not deliver the same amount of skin tightening that plastic surgery would produce, but many patients prefer less invasive procedures and do not want to have a plastic surgical scar.

Most patients have some mild swelling and mild redness for a couple of days. There may be bruising. Certainly, when used for facial acne scarring, there is not the rawness and prolonged duration of healing involved with facial ablative laser resurfacing.
Micro-needling can successfully treat:
- Fine Lines
- Fine Wrinkles on upper lip and even around the eyes
- Acne Scars
- Stretch marks
- Body Scars
- Skin slackness
- Under Eye Bags (Festoons)
- Dull Skin
- Enlarged Pores
