A new solar home for $17,500

Powerhouse is India’s first solar powered, ready-to-move-in, eco-friendly, smart home. Built to last, it comes pre-fitted with electrical and plumbing systems that can be controlled remotely. It is powered by clean solar energy and should be able to power not only the home but an e-vehicle, as well.

The house’s energy is stored in batteries. With this, it can be 100% off-grid.

All the electrical and plumbing work are done at the factory. Final steps just involve connecting systems once the home is placed on land.

Powerhouse is the result of collective efforts made across nations. Buyers of the Powerhouse solar home purchase a one stop solution for their housing and energy needs in India. Powerhouse was conceptualized at and by the social innovation team at Crisp Social Ventures and is being operationalized through iDream Advisory Services Pvt Ltd in India. The secondary research was done by a group of management students from Brigham Young University, Utah, USA. The primary research and development is done by iDream, along with manufacturing partner Somnath Infrastructure. Solar power leader Agni Solar is the clean energy partner. Gallopper is the reach-out partner.
