You are invited to the 6th Annual Oxford Business and Poverty Conference – Focus on Housing for 2020

This year’s conference will be on 8 September 2020 and 9 September 2020. The event will focus on housing and address the development of mutuals, resident participation, and employee ownership in the low and moderate- income housing space in the UK and the US. As at our past conferences, expert collaboration and networking will be a valuable part of each day – hopefully producing practical solutions to key problems.

For those who are interested in supporting housing in the UK, India and Zimbabwe, we have a third of the conference set aside to present business plans of entrepreneurs who are trying to address the housing needs of low and moderate-income people.

The conference is free. But participants will have to pay for the cost of their food served during the conference.  Coffee, tea and other beverages will be provided by the sponsors.

Participants can register for either or both days of the conference. When registering, please select if you are staying for 1) lunch, or 2) lunch and early dinner, or 3) just dinner.  If you want to eat four meals with us, you will need to register for four meals.

Conference times are 9:30am registration and then 10am until 5pm each day (if you choose to have dinner with us, the dinners start at 6pm and end at 7:30pm or so).

Please register for either or both days at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-6th-annual-oxford-business-and-poverty-conference-on-housing-tickets-95822558853?aff=ebdssbdestsearch
Request for Sponsors for the Employee Ownership version of our conference. The 7th Annual Oxford Business and Poverty Conference will be held on the 9th and 10th of September, 2021 in Oxford. The focus will be on bringing 50 top leaders from the US and UK employee ownership communities together in a brain trust fashion to discuss the future and the challenges of employee ownership in these two countries. Please write to John Hoffmire at hoffmire@wisc.edu if you would like to be a sponsor.
We have launched a new online newspaper at www.cobap.org. You can also go to centeronbusinessandpoverty.com. Each day, we post our own new material, mostly written by John Hoffmire. As well, we re-post the best material available on sustainable business, employee ownership, health, environment, poverty and prosperity. In addition, we have a continually updated newsfeed from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) on each of these topics. Finally, we highlight many of the 44 companies we have helped start and/or grow as well as other projects we sponsor – these are included under the heading Partnerships and Collaborations.
