Celebrating 30 Years!

A letter from our Executive Director...
Region 9 will be celebrating 30 years in 2019 and has so much history to be proud of. Even reflecting over my time at Region 9, which is now 13 years, I am personally most proud of purchasing a building, opening satellite offices in Cortez and Pagosa Springs, as well as growing our team with more amazing people.

Since inception, Region 9 has distributed almost 28 million dollars in loan funding in our five-county region, and currently have about 160 active loans. We have been the first supporter and funder of legacy businesses like Mercury Payment Systems, Old Hundred Gold Mine in Silverton, Honeyville and Zuke’s Pet Treats. Our founding Director, Ed Morlan, was a key partner getting a fiber line between Albuquerque and Grand Junction in partnership with Northern New Mexico. He continues to leave his mark on our organization as we continue to live by his example of hard work, innovation and getting things done.

We will be celebrating our 30th with our first ever special event. Please see more information in this newsletter regarding it.  We hope you can help us recognize our Ed Morlan Economic Development Leader of the Year, Lender of the Year, past and present board members, Loan Committee members and of course the projects and businesses that make our region thrive.
