Elizabeth trained at Bristol Art College, where she qualified with a BA (Hons) in graphic design. At the end of her course, she moved back to Berkshire and for many years was employed as a book designer for a major publishing company. Having always devoted as much of her spare time as possible to painting and drawing, in 2007 she decided to become a full time artist and began to exhibit her work. She has taken part in a number of successful exhibitions in and around Berkshire since then.
Elizabeth is able to work in most media, but happiest when painting landscapes and seascapes in watercolours, inks and acrylics. Her inspiration comes from observing the light and atmosphere of the surrounding countryside and the Hampshire coast as well as a fascination for the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. Her paintings are dynamic, impressionist landscapes and seascapes incorporating lively brushwork and a vibrant palette of colours.
A selection of Elizabeth Baldin paintings, prints and greetings cards will be on display in Angles of Art, Reading from Saturday 23rd February – Saturday 30th March 2019.
