Hello Chapter Leaders,
We have a couple exciting announcements to share with our network of dedicated volunteers around the world!
-
SIGGRAPH Asia is coming! ACM SIGGRAPH’s first “hybrid conference” will be taking place in Japan from December 14-17. This year, the Professional and Student Chapters Committee will be combining the Chapter Leaders Workshop and the Chapters Information Session into a single event during the conference called All About ACM SIGGRAPH Chapters, which starts at 10:00 AM Japan Standard Time on December 14th. The event will be held virtually, so chapter leaders and chapter members around the world are welcome to attend.

The Chapters Committee is looking for a volunteer to join them in serving the ACM SIGGRAPH organization! A new role has opened up for an Online Communities Coordinator who will lead others in strategy and engagement of a digital platform for the ACM SIGGRAPH community to communicate with each other year-round. The volunteer should be someone who is familiar with some of the many facets of the ACM SIGGRAPH and SIGGRAPH conference communities, and who has experience participating in or moderating virtual communities. If this sounds like you or someone you know, please email pscc@siggraph.org.

The Nurturing Communities Strategy Group is a team put together by the ACM SIGGRAPH Executive Committee to research community-building opportunities among ACM SIGGRAPH organization participants. They are hoping to learn more from Chapter leaders about improving the chapter member experience in our society, and they need your help! Please help us (the Chapters Committee) help you (the Chapters) by taking a moment to send your answers to these questions to the group’s leader Adam Finkelstein at communities-strategy@siggraph.org:
-
What is the toughest challenge you currently face as a Chapter leader running your chapter?
-
How is this challenge affecting your Chapter?
-
How could ACM SIGGRAPH support you in overcoming this challenge?
-
If you could choose how ACM SIGGRAPH would give you its "Thank you!" for the hard work you do as a chapter leader, what would you ask for?
Thank you for all that you do!
