OUR NEW HQ
Renovations are moving along, as every day, something gets finished. There's less dust, and the AC is running smoothly and keeping us cool during the hot summer days. Due to the renovation delays, we've had to postpone our opening to the public and our active hot-desks, but all in due time - one small bite at a time. We'll keep you posted here as services such as hot-desking become available, as well as the grand opening!

In the meantime we have lots to keep us busy, from RAID TWO, to The Reading Line, to our annual party The RAID Social, and of course Fan Expo! More on the latter two next week, but let's chat a bit about RAID TWO and The Reading Line now...

RAID TWO
We're moving right along with RAID TWO, the second volume in our yearly anthology series! Ramón has completed pencils on our cover featuring our ever-loveable RAIDbot spreading its goodwill and love. This year's book is coming in at a whopping 160 pages! With a scheduled fall launch date, we'll be doing a pre-sell of the edition at this year's Fan Expo Canada, in kickstarter-like fashion, offering up some special extras for those interested early birds. More on Fan Expo next week!

THE READING LINE
Taking inspiration from IN THE SKIN OF A LION by Michael Ondaatje. “And the cyclist too on his flight claimed the bridge in that blurred movement, alone and illegal. Thunderous applause greeted him at the far end …”

Celebrating books (and now graphic novels!), literacy, and our great city, The Reading Line hosts book rides around the southern Ontario region. This year's ride on Sunday August 26th celebrates the 100th anniversary of the historic Bloor Viaduct that traverses the Don Valley River in Toronto with a group ride along Bloor and Danforth streets, with three pitstops and a series speakers, food, and retailers. With a variety of authours speaking to their works, Ramón will be taking to the pulpit to preach the glory of comic books, graphic novels, RAID and it's surrounding community. Page & Panel will also be set-up at the Viaduct location with graphic novels on hand! Come for a ride, pick up a book, meet some authors, and just enjoy a good day in the sun.

A RETURN TO KUKUBURI
After a (ridiculously) long hiatus, Ramón is gearing up to (FINALLY!) finish his comic Kukuburi. The quirky passion project began in 2007 under the Transmission-X (later TX) webcomics collective banner, and came to an unfinished halt in 2012 as Ramón's career reached new heights. The website has been taken offline, as its in the midst of being updated for the re-launch, but you can visit and sign up for the Kukuburi newsletter to get informed on upcoming dates, news, and info. In the meantime, if your Kukuburi cravings are unwieldy and you need to get a little fix, Ramón has slowly been re-releasing the original story on Instagram as he builds up to the official re-launch!
