VPC is a registered charity dedicated to everyone who support Parents in educating their children.

For 60 years now, VPC has worked tirelessly with Victorian school parents. That we are still here today is a testament to the hard work and support of parents, schools and parent associations across Victoria.
We are a not-for-profit, ACNC registered Charity Organisation and are driven by commitment of a small group of volunteers.
You can be involved as a parent, guardian, school, teacher or business; we love to collaborate with all those who are passionate about supporting children through education, from babies through to adulthood and beyond.
If you would love to get involved, don’t hesitate to contact us at:
Whether it's once a week or once in a while, we welcome your involvement.

Dear VPC Community,
In 2019 VPC celebrates 60 years of service, and to increase our service VPC has initiated change. This
transition year is taking a lot of time and energy especially as the work is entirely done by volunteers, yet we know it will stand VPC in good stead for the next 60 years.
2019 started with the question:
How can VPC continue, after its foundation 60 years ago, to be meaningful in this changing world, to stay relevant and grow its membership on and offline?
With this in mind, and on advice and assistance of Prof. Helen Skouteris and Dr. Heather Morris, (MCHRI) VPC started the year in February with a parent focus group session at MCHRI, (Monash University Ethics Approval).  Thank you to all who participated, it gave us valuable feedback.
It became clear during this session, that VPC, around for 60 years as a not-for-profit parent organisation, was not known (enough) by parents, educators and schools on or offline.
Yet the parents and educators present saw great value in having a non-profit group available for the support of parents and the wider community. The need is there in our community for support. That drives us as an organisation to create a more vibrant VPC Community and become a more recognised and known organisation, specifically in the area of education and helping all those associated with educating children in schools.
2019, in VPC’s 60th year, has become dedicated to transition.
Here are some of the changes so far:
  • VPC moved office, within Brighton
  • In July we launched our new vibrant and modern logo
  • The VPC brand has transitioned online in social media to a new look
  • New brand business cards and banners are nearing completion
  • A new membership model has been created
  • Our podcasts are being uploaded to the VPC YouTube channel, with our new look
Coming soon:
  • VPC will have a new website this year
  • New podcasts are in preparation
Parent Engagement - Professional Development
Another new initiative was added. In June VPC introduced and delivered its first Professional Development ‘Parent Engagement in Learning' session with VPC facilitator Caz Batson. This first successful twilight session; ‘Some Insight in Parent Engagement Practices in School Communities’ was held at Melbourne Graduate School of Education at Melbourne University for ‘Masters Degree in Teaching’ students, on 13 June, in collaboration with Ass Prof. John Quay. In 2020 VPC will offer ‘Some Insight in Parent Engagement Practices in School Communities' at other Universities as well.
The following day, in collaboration with Aynur Simsirel, Principal Advisor at ISV, we organised the first VPC - ISV collaboration Professional Development Day; ‘Parents Engagement Throughout Schooling’, a successful full day PD session. Planning is on the way to offer these two sessions and a 2nd day extension PD day again in 2020.
