Great Times, Great Causes and a Great New Website

In these trying  times we would like to share a little bit of good news. Our new website is going live on the Friday, March 20. It’s bigger, brighter, easier to navigate and really does a good job of telling our story. There are more opportunities to donate, including a $25/month option for the 300 FUN(d). You’ll find up to date information about upcoming events, our monthly newsletter,  social  media posts, and a lot more. One of the great features is a link to the full-length “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up” video. Since you can’t go out to a movie theatre for a while, sit back and enjoy this film

We’d like to thank Jenny Bublitz of Bublitz Creative for designing and building the new site. Jenny did an outstanding job of collecting and organizing a lot of content from our group to create a beautiful and functional website that we can constantly update. If you’d like to see more of her work check out

One last note about the current coronavirus situation. So far there is a low threat level for Ozaukee County, but we can’t be complacent. We are concerned about the health and safety of our  “dysfunctional family” at Mel’s as well as our general community. So, we will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as they relate to our office hours, meetings, and  upcoming events, which may be cancelled or modified as needed. Stay calm, avoid crowds, find ways to help the most vulnerable and keep washing your hands! We’ll get through this.

Now more than ever we have an opportunity to come together to unite in prayer for the safety, stability & health of our community.

Mel's Charities is grateful that our lives crossed with individuals like Ross, Alex & Andy, they live in the moment! We all are only guaranteed today, make the most of it and yes, wash your hands...a lot.

Dreams Do Come True

WE DID IT!!!!

We built Mattie’s “Field of Dreams” the official name is the Matthew Malkowski Memorial Baseball Field! 💙 Dave, Emily and I are so
proud of this amazing tribute we have made for our son and brother and we are honored that out of our darkness we are giving something so precious back to our community. We know how blessed we are and are grateful to everyone who has helped us along this journey.

Thank you to everyone who came out to help make Matt’s last Cornhole Tournament yet again another grand success! The crowd was very gracious and giving, and we are grateful to all of you who came out to support us despite all that has been going on in our crazy world right now. Congratulations to all our raffle and tournament winners! Mark your calendar for June 13, 4:00 and join us as we dedicate this wonderful place for kids and families to enjoy for years to come.
God Bless!
Stay Safe!
Much Love, (((HUGS))) &Peace
Never Forget MTM 💙

You Can't Make This Stuff Up
Meet the next generation to create Great Times for Great Causes: The Farm Team

In addition to raising donations for deserving groups and individuals, a key component of sustainability is continuity of management. How do we bring in new people with the same spirit and dedication of those who started this 21 years ago?

We already have the children of some of the original founders getting involved…and they’re bringing in their friends. How cool is this?

We call it the Farm Team…and just like in baseball, they’re selected with the potential of stepping up to make a major impact. The Farm Team will help with managing and bringing friends to our events, and perhaps volunteer. They will spread the word within their companies, families and circle of friends about Mel’s Charities and the impact being made. They will use social platforms to spread the word too.
Future leaders of Mel’s Charities will come from this Farm Team, armed with the experience, enthusiasm, and commitment to sustain Mel’s mission for years to come. Through a more structured program to bring in new Farm Team Members, including young professionals from some of our sponsors and supporters, our aim is to cast our net to a wider audience to grow this team.

We have the perfect manager for this team -- Susie Hoppe. Many of you have already witnessed Susie being the leader of our volunteers at past Great Times for Great Causes. She is blessed with a servant heart and a passion to get individuals involved in our mission. Please contact Susie at Events@MelsCharities.org to learn more about our Farm Team.

Our future so bright, you gotta wear shades!

Ross Shares His Thoughts

Dear Family Enrichment Center,

My name is Ross Rintelman, I just wanted to say thank you so much for being there on my birthday. It was very generous for all of you to have a Birthday Party for me. You are all so special to me in every moment of my life. I love seeing all of you from bottom of my heart.

You are some of my favorite people and always brightens my day. It meant a lot to me. Thank you for being there for me and always will be forever & ever.

Community Spotlight
Master Printwear

Master Printwear has always helped local groups with fundraising for a good cause.  Randy Groth, owner of Master Printwear, has a strong belief in giving back and didn’t hesitate with Mel’s Charities.

We quickly realized Mel’s truly does provide Great Times for Great Causes!  With all events, from the volunteers to ambassadors to Mel himself, everyone works together all while having a great time.  We also have to admit, seeing hundreds of people proudly wearing our product never gets old.

There are countless groups to support and we are very proud to support a local charity that gives so much back to the community.  Mel’s Charities is unique and we look forward to many more great years!
