Annual Meeting Postponement - The Board has decided to postpone Starr King Fellowship’s Annual Meeting from May 17 to September 20, 2020. This important meeting is when we gather to discuss and approve our budget for the next fiscal year, vote on the slate of nominees, vote on warrant articles and changes to our bylaws, and, this year, approve our new Mission and Vision. We believe that it would be wise to hold this meeting at a time, when it will be safe for our members to be present. We hope that, by September, the crisis will have eased, and we will be back in our building. In these uncertain times, we need to focus on each other and taking care of our health and well being. The current Board and Committees will remain in place until elections in September. Thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time. Take care and be safe. Deedie Kriebel, President.
Sunday Service Live Stream
We were delighted to have 79 zoom logins with over 90 actual viewers last Sunday. Thank you for your patience as we work through some of the glitches we encountered. Many thanks to Ian Halter whose technical video expertise was greatly appreciated through this process. To make your Zoom experience the best it can be, here are a few tips.
On Sundays we need to see one another’s beautiful faces
- Just as if you are physically in the Sanctuary you can chit chat if you come a little early. But once the service starts you will all be placed on mute.
- If you notice any issues, please type into the chat window. The host will be monitoring messages throughout the service.
- Apologies if your candle was not mentioned. The chats were fast and numerous making it really hard to keep up.
- We're aware of the sound issues and have ordered a new device that will connect our video camera directly into our sound system. We're hoping this solves the problem.
- Many of you stayed for the Break Out coffee room. The fun of that is that it's totally random who will be there with you - a chance to get to know folks you might not ordinarily have a chance to talk to. We hope you'll stick around this week. Once you "leave" your room you can return to the Main room and say hello to others.
- Don't worry about how you look or what you're wearing. We're just happy to see you!
and a slide show is something we’d like to make a regular part of the service. So send us a photo! Show us how you're staying safe, keeping positive, being well! Send your photographs to Suzan Gannett, who has graciously agreed to put them together. Send them to:
We are making every effort to compile COVID-19 community information that comes to us from so many sources - FaceBook, YouTube, and emails. Now on our website, you can get recent updates from our hospital, health officer, and local businesses. You can also volunteer or request help with meals, groceries or making masks. Additionally there is quite a list of local resources. Check it out. https://www.starrkingfellowship.org/covid-19
. Don't forget about the list of our own virtual gatherings and meetings listed on our home page https://www.starrkingfellowship.org
Now more than ever we have a need to connect with folks. If you are a member or friend you automatically have an account to access our directory. Here’s what you can do there: Change your contact information, find contact information of members, see what groups you belong to (e.g. Soul Matters, Smooth Sundays)
