Dr. Susan C Scrimshaw, Worship Leader
Music by Allan Stern and the Starr King Choir

Our maternal relationships are complex whether our mothers are long gone or very present in our lives. For many, mothering is both wonderful and challenging, while others miss the children they lost or never had. Both men and women can find joy in mentoring, teaching and nourishing children in our communities. Join us as we explore the many facets of mothering and mentoring which are more complex than ever in this time of staying home.

To protect the children in Day Care at our Fellowship building, this service provides an alternate venue. Join us via Zoom at The Sandwich Mountain Sanctuary for a service in the Bodhi Heart Yurt, venue courtesy of Norman and Cynthia Scrimshaw

Our worship leader Susan C. Scrimshaw works in medical anthropology and public health, and was twice a college president. She is a second-generation member of Starr King Fellowship and a sixth-generation UU.

Order of Service can be downloaded from our website's home page each Sunday

Conversations with the Board
Starting in May, on the first and 3rd Mondays of the month there will be the opportunity to connect with the Board. Join some board members to hear any updates, ask questions and connect with one another. We will meet via Zoom at 7pm.

June 2 Book Group, 3 p.m. The pick for June is Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harar.
From a renowned historian comes a groundbreaking narrative of humanity’s creation and evolution—a #1 international bestseller—that explores the ways in which biology and history have defined us and enhanced our understanding of what it means to be “human.”

Covid-19 Update View the latest video report on our Covid-19 webpage from Speare Hospital's Chief Medical Officer Dr. Joe Ebner about Covid-19 progression and handling in Central New Hampshire.  The news is positive as we change gears from mitigation to containment. He states that NH hospitals remain in good condition for staffing and equipment and all providers are now using Tele-Health for patient care.

Need a Mask? Starr King sewers are ready for your order!  Request a mask on our Covid-19 web page. To date, Jenn Legier has made over 300 for area businesses and medical care facilities. Wow!

Don't forget you can donate on-line!
May's Outreach will help support those in New Hampshire who live with food insecurity. The dollars raised this month will go to the New Hampshire Food Bank.

UU the Vote All around us are reminders at how far from a world that reflects UU principles we are living in. And at the same time, there are so many examples of people working diligently to get us there. Join UU the Vote on May 12th for “How We Thrive” an online revival of hope, song, and determination with Rev. Susan Frederick Gray I just signed up for “How We Thrive” on May 12th with Rev. Susan Frederick Gray and UU the Vote.  It’s going to be a night of song and spirit and an invitation for us each to connect for the collective power we need right now.
You can sign up to at: After Wisconsin forced people into risking their lives to vote, Ohio switched to vote by mail, and now NY is cancelling its primary altogether, we have a democracy crisis on top of the health and economic crises.  It can all be overwhelming if we face it alone. That’s why I’m hoping if you’ll join me on the 12th and then for the next steps that come out of it. Can you make it? Let me know if you want to talk more, Rev. Emily Burr
