Help Wanted:

Dedicated Dog Lovers

It takes lots of volunteers to take care of the animals at the LHS Adoption Center. We are currently running low on dog volunteers. Can you spare two hours a week to commit to a regular weekly dog shift? It's a fun way to make a difference. Application and training required before being scheduled. Please take a look at our Volunteer Info Page and consider it.
Adoption News

Featured Dog:

Dreyfus is a sweet 10-year-old senior Puggle who is looking for a home to live out his golden years. Dreyfus gets along with other dogs and has lived with another dog in the past.  He’s a friendly boy who loves being near his people. He would love a calm home with owners who could spent time with him. If you would like to meet this sweet pooch, please fill out our online application or stop in Saturdays 12-3 pm.

Featured Cat:

Kittens, Kittens, Kittens
It's not officially kitten season, but no one told them.

Atticus and Jacques, six-months old, are lovable and well-adjusted. They are just two of the many kittens we have on hand.  If you're ready for a kitten or two in your life, fill out an application and write in "kitten" where it says Pet Applying For.

Events and Visits

A Heart for the Animals
Mattea H (at right), from Cassadaga Junior Auxiliary Post 1280, stopped by with cash, cleaning supplies, toys, and treats for our dogs and cats. She held a bake sale recently to benefit LHS. Here she is with LHS President Sue Styborski. Well done, Mattea!

Scrap Metal Drive
Members of the Fredonia State Hockey Team showed up in force to lend their muscle to the LHS annual scrap metal drive. Their youth and energy made the day a huge success and took much of the load off older volunteers. A big thank you to them as well as to Mom and Pop's Recycling and Jolly Roger Recycling. And thank you to all those who came down and donated scrap metal.
