Bella Rose is available for adoption.
She is extremely friendly and gets along well with other cats. She came to LHS pregnant and was a fantastic mother. She weaned her kittens and is waiting patiently for a home of her own.

“I’m a lover, not a fighter. A kisser not a biter!” Meet 2-year-old Bruno, current sweetheart of LHS. Bruno is well behaved, walks great on a leash, and keeps his kennel very clean. We just can’t believe this guy was an unclaimed stray. Bruno would like to be your one and only, so no other pets please. Homeowners only due to breed and size restrictions of landlords. If Bruno seems like the dog for you please fill out an online application.

Featured Cats:
The Lonely Hearts Club
These cats are members of the Lakeshore Humane Society Lonely Hearts Club.
Unfortunately, some of our cats get overlooked, some for a long time. They are not BAD, they are not UNDESIRABLE, and they certainly are not UNLOVABLE! Often, they are just cats that take a long time to warm up to people. When a prospective family walks into the cat kennel, the friendliest, most outgoing cats are often chosen first. We can understand how this happens. We also know that the shy cats have so much love and companionship to offer and we want you to have the opportunity to give them a second look.
Take a look at the cats here and consider giving one a home. Their adoption fees are 50% off.

Maggie. About 7 months old.

Nevada. Age 4-1/2, shy but likes to be petted.

Marty, 10 years old. Here's a sweet boy who's been through a lot. He has allergies and is on medications and occasionally needs to see the vet for a steroid shot. He still has some spunk and would love to live out whatever time he has left in a loving home.

Adoption Days are still suspended. Open by appointment only.

Rock Steps Down from Presidency
Rock Vallone has been an integral part of Lakeshore Humane Society for 41 years! Through his efforts and determination a small group of people grew their ideas for protecting and caring for animals into today’s Adoption Center with capacity to care for 10 dogs and 40-45 cats. While Rock has held many offices and roles over the years, most people know him as the President and face of Lakeshore Humane Society. It was with great sadness and deep regret that his resignation was recently accepted by the LHS Board of Officers. Rock will continue at LHS helping with fundraising, cat care, and cleaning and maintenance. We wish him the best and we hope he now can find time and energy for some of his other favorite pursuits!
