Featured Dog:

Teddy
Teddy is an adorable 3 year old chihuahua mix who came to us as an unclaimed stray. He is a typical chihuahua: energetic, talkative, and has a big dog personality in a little dog body. Due to some dominance issues, Teddy is looking for an experienced chihuahua owner who is willing to commit to working on his behavioral issues. Teddy is most comfortable with adults so he needs a quiet, adult-only home. No children or cats. He tends to be dog selective, so a meet & greet would be required with any dogs in the home. Despite these issues, Teddy has a lot of love to give to the right owner. Pop Tart is estimated to be about six and a half, perhaps a little older. She's pretty sedentary but sweet and friendly. She's looking for someone to love her. Could that be you?

A New Year in a New Home
Zipper is adopted! She will be the beloved, spoiled only kitty in the house.
Lucinda went home in early December and is spending all her time hugging her new human. She was a little shy with the dogs at first but they are very excited and eager to be friends with her.
 
Tiffany heads home with new mom.
 
Tiger looks ready for his new life.
 
Vader heads out for a Merry Christmas and a wonderful life with this couple.
 
Antonio is holding Jilly.  Both are very happy with each other.
Toby and Lucas get adopted together!
 
Stella finally got to go home. Her new mom has been coming to visit from Angola for an hour every week until she was ready.
 
Sweet little Blossom (now named Ivy Noel)
has captured her new family's hearts.
 
Ratatoue gets a new family for the new year.
 
Rusty is adopted just in time to ring in the new year with his new family! He joins one girl, two cats, and five dogs. Oh, and a mom and dad. Playtime!
 
Nacho heads out on New Year's Eve. We warned the family that he was shy and would need some work, but in 20 minutes the daughter had him purring in her arms.
 
Melvin is adopted! As you can see, he is still a little shy. But the new girl in his life is undaunted. She already loves him and plans to spend many hours with him to bring him around.
So this happened on New Year's Eve ....

Bike Raffle Winner
 
Sandy Vedovato was the winner of the Bike Raffle last month which also included a $100 gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods. Sandy is pictured here with her prize presented by LHS volunteer Bob. Thanks to all who bought tickets.
 

Valentine Masks
New from the Cat's Meow Boutique
Show your love for animals by wearing your LHS Valentine's Day mask! These five fabric mask designs will be available at the boutique on or before January 16th. As always, these are handmade 100% cotton masks in limited numbers, so feel free to reserve your choices now. Please text Lynn at 716-410-4200 with the pattern name and size you'd like and you won't be disappointed! Masks are $10 each. Orders will be taken until January 7th. It's a LOVEly way to stay safe and show your support for LHS.

Life at the Adoption Center
 
Snow Day: the dogs romp in the Adoption Center yards.
 
One of our LHS volunteers (and adopters) just bought the house across the street. Now Brandy can keep an eye on the place from which she was adopted.
 
Lily (formerly Liza) was adopted in August and seems content to spend Christmas in her new home.
Lacy enjoys a much needed walk in the woods.
Energetic Teddy goes all out on a chew toy.
 
Sweet Juliette tolerates a medicated bath twice a week.
Permanent shelter resident Jackson surveys his domain in the cat room.
