'Apartments Italiëlei' - Antwerp (tender - 3.398 m²)
Urban corner accentuated with 17 apartments in assignment of 'Constructie en Promotie van Immobiliën nv'

This newly built project is located at the corner of the Italiëlei with de ‘Van Aerdstraat’ in Antwerp. A firm grid divides this property into 3 slim sections at the Italiëlei and in 5 sections at the ‘Van Aerdstraat’. Furthermore the volume is structured according to the 'base-body-head' concept with a lively plinth as a 'see through' apartment of 130 m2 with a courtyard and a commercial facility on the corner. The body consists out of the 3 stacked building layers with each 3 'see through' apartments. The cornice of the body is adjusted to the neighbouring buildings of the existing context. The top of the design with its 2 and 3 sections is conceived as the head clearly crowned with a higher building level. The materialisation is a consistent combination of polished matt concrete with frames in anodised bronze coloured aluminium.

'Parkvilla - Boechout‘’ (realized - 3.098 m²)
Redevelopment of industrial park with metal factory BMT into 25 newly built apartments in assignment of Gands nv.

In this suburban context with a park, our design at the time was translated to a compact and dynamic park villa that breaks away from standard apartment buildings. Rings in brown architectonic concrete with a graded profile divide the park villa in horizontal villas. The white facade covering consists out of vertically profiled aluminium sheets that flow into mobile blinds. The shutters create a dynamic field of openness and closedness. This light structure presents itself as a strong horizontal section inbetween. All apartments have access to a spacious indoor terrace with a beautiful park view. The park villa is connected underground with a large parking culminating on the Molenlei next to the railway tracks. Below the park villa individual storage rooms for bicycles and such are provided.

Competition winning design of ‘De Kwint’ definitely allocated - Zonhoven (15.000 m²)
Village center of Zonhoven will undergo transformation with the project 'De Kwint'.

'De Kwint' is a won project from 2017 designed by Binst Architects and De Gouden Liniaal Architecten. A core strengthening project that will give the village heart of the Zonhoven a complete new appearance.
December 10 at the press conference, the city council and church wardens appointed the redevelopment of De Kwint site to the project developers Kolmont and Vanhout Projects. On the site between the ING bank and the former chaplains in de Heuvenstraat, the project De Kwint will arise. It will include a hospitality facility, a new meeting hall, a branch office of the local police, 67 apartments, an underground parking and a dozen commercial properties. If everything goes according to plan, the construction will start during the autumn of 2021.

First stone layed of residential project ‘Komet in Mechelen’ (phase 1 = 31.611 m²)

At the Komet site in Mechelen the symbolical first stone of the new residential area was layed. At the site of 40.000 m2 there will be 320 homes in total of which already 128 will be built during the first phase. In assignment of Re-Vive the buildings have been designed by Binst Architects (that also made the master plan of this site) and Areal Architecten. OMGEVING is in charge of the landscape architecture and the public domain. VK Engineering took care of the stability, techniques and EPB. Democo has been appointed as the main contractor.

Phase 1 consists out of 6 building volumes with a high quality mix of 128 housing units, 1.745 m2 commercial space, offices, hospitality services, 2 underground parkings and communal bicycle storages. Out of that, Binst Architects builds 22.445 m2. Komet is destined to become one of the most green and sustainable areas of the city. The first inhabitants of the new neighbourhood will be able to move in by the end of 2022.
