Finally Milano once more!

Dear de Sede Partners:

The anticipation was enormous – finally Milan once more, finally Design Week once more! Finally coming into contact with people again!

After two turbulent years, the idea now is: back to normalcy! The Salone del Mobile managed to return with impressive persuasiveness just in time for its 60^th anniversary. More than 2,000 exhibitors participated this year – and we leave the trade fair with the magical feeling that we can celebrate our past and look with confidence to the future.

Our Design Week highlights

The combination of durable materials and traditional craftsmanship – the blend of a courageous vocabulary of forms and timeless design; that’s what de Sede stands for. More than ever before, answers are needed for excellent interiors and at the same time flexible solutions that meet individual standards and offer a source of inspiration.

The infinite, extendable modular seating landscape made of warm, supple leather, or the cozy soft armchair of the iconic DS-707 family invited visitors to linger in comfort.

The filigree and yet open character of this sculpture brings something unique, something timelessly stylish to comfortable relaxation.

Atmospheric mix
Usually it’s the fresh variety of form and function that plays a big role in the design of new items of furniture. But when it comes to our sculptures, things have to go another little step further. An important consideration here is not just concern for form – the linkage between the finest materials and perfected craftsmanship are as visibly prominent with the new DS-800 products as they are in the design by Italian design studio Archirivolto, which took its inspiration for DS-1030 from the Italian lifestyle and temperament of dolcefarniente.

Material and naturalness
And might there be room for added simplicity? Natural folds, the elegant effect of the upper material as a supple throw and an awareness of giving shape and contours their special moment – this is what DS-149 as the new favorite place represents. In their design of the armchair, Miriam and Sebastian Amelung sought to preserve a hide’s naturalness, as if it cast loosely over the armchair – the result is a place of calm, a refuge with a naturalness that brings strength, again and again.
