Summer Term Programmes
British Values & UNCRC
BigFoot Arts Education

Next term we are delighted to offer schools our introductory assembly and workshop programme designed to creatively introduce young people to both British Values and the UNC Rights of the Child.

Using a variety of fun drama activities, students will be encouraged to discuss and debate these challenging matters together, whilst also learning about why both the UNCRC and, more recently, British Values, are seen as important steps towards providing a happier free existence for all.

Cyber Safety Programmes
Safer Internet Day

We are always proud and delighted to celebrate Safer Internet Day with our Bigfoot Schools, as we know all too well just how important it is to keep young people safe online. Last month we were thrilled to have visited over 25 schools with our assembly and workshop programmes.

North East Early Years & KS1 Storytelling
Madam Dragon's Training School
We LOVE our new EYFS & KS1 programme Madam Dragon’s Training School that we have been delivering in schools across the North East this term. During interactive storytelling sessions children learn to be the very best dragons before they hear the story of Bloopy, Doopy and Bop who were sent away from Dragon School to live in the forest. The workshops have a lovely message, celebrating what makes us different.

We recently visited Grange Primary School in Hartlepool with the programme; afterwards one of the teachers told us:  Thanks for an amazing day!  I thought it was fab and I have had positive feedback from my colleagues. The children loved the character of Madam Dragon and have written stories and drawn pictures today.

Fanastic!

Welsh Storytelling
Mabinogion Storytelling Workshops

Many schools in Wales celebrated World Book Day and St David’s day with our popular Mabinogion storytelling performances and workshops. An inspirational way to celebrate Welsh history and culture!

We love this quote from the Head Teacher of Our Lady's RC Primary School:

Thank you once again for a great day, staff and pupils thoroughly enjoyed the day. Rhys was a great story teller and had the right balance of authority in the group sessions, where children really enjoyed themselves and were given the opportunity to explore themes whilst high standards of behaviour and listening were maintained. We were very impressed with the day he delivered. Thank you once again.

Well done Rhys and all of our amazing Bigfooters delivering this brilliant programme!

Creative Residency
Success at Mid Somerset Festival!

Bigfoot congratulations to all the students at Bannerman Road Community Academy who, yet again, scooped a large share of the prizes at this year’s Mid Somerset Festival!

The students have worked very hard for the past two months during their weekly Bigfoot sessions to develop their self confidence, listening skills, team skills and proficiency in the spoken word.  We gained a first and a second place in our solo presentations and, what is more, we were also awarded the trophy for the highest score overall! A spectacular achievement once again!

At Bigfoot we are incredibly impressed with their achievements and share the school’s immense pride and satisfaction in the efforts of all their students. Well done Bannerman Road!

Gender Stereotype Programme
International Women's Day

In recognition of International Women's Day last week, we celebrated the amazing women who we are proud to have as part of our Bigfoot family! Our facilitators do a brilliant job both inside and outside of Bigfoot and so we are always happy to share and celebrate their diverse achievements.

We also want to celebrate the pursuit of passions and dreams while challenging stereotypes along the way. Our Gender Stereotype programme What I am is... promotes positive role models, focusing on individual potential and challenging stereotypes . Click below to find out more about the programme.

Let's press for progress together and drive full speed ahead towards becoming more gender inclusive!
