What have we got coming up?
Saturday 19th May 2018
The Royal Wedding!

The BIGGEST event of the year is happening soon….and we’re all invited! The Royal Wedding is on the 19th May and so to celebrate we have created a brand new Buzz Day workshop to honour the occasion using exciting and engaging drama tasks.

We will bring the Royal Wedding to life, explore the history of the monarchy, as well as consider the meaning of marriage and how different cultures celebrate around the world. Pupils will also learn facts about the happy couple, help prepare for the wedding, think about how it can be commemorated and imagine they are there to witness the big day!

Summer Term 2018
Transition Programmes
Preparing for and managing transition can often be a challenging experience: everyone knows that with all new beginnings comes big change. Bigfoot’s collection of inspiring programmes help students of all ages to celebrate and explore their transition creatively with their peers.

We have several Transition programmes this year, for all age groups, read all about them below!
Year 6 and Year 2 Transition Workshops
Big Steps and Little Steps
Our popular, interactive Transition workshops give students the opportunity to confront, discuss and challenge the emotional and practical implications involved with ‘moving on’ to either Secondary school (Big Steps) or KS2 (Little Steps).

Through a range of exercises and role-plays, they will explore the various coping strategies they might use as well as celebrating the positive aspects of moving on.
Memories and Moving On
NEW FOR 2018! Year 6 Transition Film

We are so excited to announce that this term we are offering Year 6 students the opportunity to create a film based on their experiences of primary school - in just one day!

Created through interviews, dramatisations, writing and art work, all the children are included in this special process that captures their journey through primary school. This provides the school with a ready-made show back for their leavers assembly and a potential gift for students to remember the school by!

Year 6 Performance
Upwards and Onwards

This 60 minute performance is perfect for larger groups of students to watch together, especially on induction days, or as a post SATS treat.

It delves into the lives and minds of two students as they make the move from Primary to Secondary school, providing a humorous insight into the various concerns associated with moving on.

The perfect opportunity to celebrate new beginnings in a positive and enjoyable way!

The Story Tree Stories
Early Years Transition - Everything Changes

The Story Tree Stories are Bigfoot’s collection of exciting, interactive early years programmes, using charming puppetry, song and interactive storytelling.

In the Rainbow clearing in the forest things are changing. The story tree wants to do something completely different; instead of collecting stories it wants to WRITE ITS’ OWN. Everyone in the forest is worried about this. Especially Tara, she doesn’t want everything to change, she’s happy with life as it is!

A story tree tale about change and its ups and downs, perfect for pre-school children about to transition to Reception.

Spotlight and Done in a Day
Summer Term Arts Programmes

Throughout the summer term we offer a range of projects and programmes which are ideal for post SATs treats, Arts & Enrichment Weeks, Year 6 Leavers performances / assemblies or simply as an end of year treat.

Students could learn a new skill in our range of Spotlight specialist workshops, or create a play, dance, song or piece of art through our Done in a Day programmes - anything is possible!

Seize the Summer!
Summer Holiday Projects
Whether it be a one day specialist skill workshop for a holiday playscheme or a two week performing arts Transition project, Bigfoot has a variety of amazing programmes for children of all ages and ability this Summer.

This year we are also offering schools and organisations our Raising Aspirations programme, Seize the Summer! It includes a 30 minute performance, followed by workshops of various lengths and outcomes depending on the length of the project, encouraging young people to consider their dreams and aspirations and what it takes to achieve our goals.

What have we been up to?
Creative Literacy Programmes
Come an' See Anansi
We loved visiting Rathfern Primary School in South East London recently with our literacy programme Come an' See Anansi. They told us:

A creative and inspiring programme that captured ALL children's imaginations. The facilitator has high energy and is a positive role model with the highest expectations of all!!

We are THRILLED with such amazing feedback! Our literacy programmes are available all year round, please click below to find out more.
Creative Literacy Programmes
Shakespeare Week in the South West

We had a very successful day with Bassetts Farm Primary School in Exmouth last term for National Shakespeare week. The children loved Bigfooter Duncan's Shakespeare Ain't that Bard interactive assembly performance with a very quick rendition of 'Romeo and Juliet' performed by the pupils.

Then Years 5 & 6 got down to some crazy beats reciting 'Macbeth' with our Rapspeare workshops. Great to see the whole school responding with such interest to Shakepeare's life and works. Thank you Bassetts Farm Primary and well done Duncan!

Creative Literacy Programmes
Shakespeare ain't that Bard
We LOVE getting feedback from schools, and it is so important for us as we continually review and adapt our programmes in order to ensure that our work is as beneficial as possible.

But even more special than that is receiving feedback from parents! We were literally blown away to hear from a parent after our recent Shakespeare ain't that Bard assembly and workshops at St Aidan's Catholic Primary School.

I would like to express my gratitude for arranging for Adrian to come to the school today to speak to the Year 5 students. My son was so impressed.  Adrian has definitely made an indelible mark on him.

He told me everything he said, including Shakespeare's play Macbeth. For a boy that only really reads "Diary of the Wimpy Kid", he now wants to read all of Shakespeare's plays!

How amazing! Well done Adrian!
Bespoke Buzz Days - Empire Windrush
Creative Days
We recently visited Tillingbourne Junior School to deliver some bespoke Buzz Days on the Empire Windrush, and were so pleased to get the following feedback:

The workshops were vibrant and the facilitators enthusiasm was infectious. The children were enabled excellent access to the topic covered. Delivery bought the subject to life. Children were very inspired and the CPD that the staff got out of being in the session was valuable.

Brilliant! Our Creative Days are available all year round; schools can opt for one of our tried and tested workshops, or alternatively we can create a bespoke say based on specific aims and requirements.
PSHE Programmes
British Values & UNCRC
Our amazing Bigfoot facilitator Lisa recently visited New North Academy to deliver our British Values assembly and workshop programme.

The school rated the programme as OUTSTANDING and had a fantastic time with Lisa who exceeded their expectations, enhancing this subject area for their students! Well done Lisa!
Raising Attainment
Creative Achievers - Catalyst Housing

Bigfoot’s Raising Attainment programme; Creative Achievers,  aims to creatively engage with students who may be struggling to succeed or achieve more within a standard statutory learning environment.

Catalyst Housing is a leading housing associations in London and the South East which funded Bigfoot to deliver our Creative Achievers programme to New Town Primary School. Click below to find out about the benefits and impact it had on their pupils and more!
