Good monday morning!

Just got this in from an organizer last night. I researched everything she mentioned and it's legit – a special "resolution of inquiry" requested by Jerrold Nadler She is focusing on Judiciary Committee members, more info below. You do not need to bother to call your own reps on this one, will only do any good to call committee members.

URGENT ACTION ITEM, 2/27/17—U.S. HOUSE RESOLUTION OF INQUIRY

Today please reach out one by one to any friends who live in the states listed below and encourage them to call their representatives. This should not be a partisan issue.

House Republicans plan to derail a Democratic “resolution of inquiry” filed earlier this month by New York Representative Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) by sending the proposal to the GOP-controlled House Judiciary Committee for a panel vote rather than recommending a full House vote. The resolution specifically requests materials related to the Trump administration’s alleged connections with Russia and his potentially unconstitutional business conflicts of interest.

The vote is scheduled to take place next Tuesday, February 28th, and the resolution is expected to effectively be killed with Representatives voting along party lines.

1. If your Representatives are on the committee; identify yourself as a constituent. If your district is not represented, please contact people you know, and ask them to make the call.

If you need a script, here is a suggestion: "My name is _______ and I'm a constituent of Representative _____________. I am calling to urge her/him to vote favorably on the resolution of inquiry that was filed by Congressman Jerrold Nadler. Donald Trump’s presidency has raised significant concerns about potential conflicts of interest involving his business holdings and his alleged ties to Russia. These increasing concerns demand a thorough investigation. I will be watching the committee’s vote next Tuesday with great interest."
