Hello Everyone…
I have been quite taken aback and upset this Christmas by the lack of the Christ element! It seems to have been lost in all the hype. I went into a shop the other day and there wasn't ONE religious Christmas card. For goodness sake, we wouldn't have it if it weren't for Jesus. IT IS HIS BIRTHDAY WE ARE CELEBRATING.
However my heart soared on Saturday evening when I went to the commissioning of six new Street Pastors including Springlines own Roy Butterworth, who will join David Capps from South Carlton on the streets of Lincoln.
I don't know if you are aware of this group of Christians who parade the streets of Lincoln on Friday and Saturday nights until 4am to help anyone who finds themselves in difficulties, - being incapable through drink or drugs, having no means to get home, sore feet, have lost contact with their friends or feel threatened by another person.
These 'angels' provide water, flip flops, a means to contact home and a safe haven - 21st century Good Samaritans! As they walk outside there is always a prayer team supporting them back at HQ.
They are putting Christianity into practice, as were the Alive Church members collecting in Tesco's, for their food bank. Can you imagine how you would feel if you couldn't afford food for Christmas, let alone any presents for your children.
What can I do? What could you do to help someone this Christmas? It can be as simple as a kind word, a smile, or filling our BAT box in church. Let's make it a bumper collection at our Christingle service on Sunday. Let's put OUR Christianity into practice as a birthday present for Jesus.
Have a wonderful Christmas.

Revd. Sue Deacon (Local Minister)

RAF Stained Glass Window - Update
The campaigns Christmas Video Appeal can be watched HERE. It contains some interesting historical photos of RAF Scampton.
If you read the 'fake news story’ in the national press over the weekend which stated that the project had not gained approval from the diocese. This is totally fictitious. We have the full support and approval of the Lincoln Diocese, The RAF, Historic England, and the National Churches Trust. We have complained to the newspapers concerned,
Due to some generous re budgeting by The University of Lincoln we are now targeting £19,200 to fund the window, its installation and the associated children's arts project.
We are about half way there.
Thanks to everyone who have donated. Local firms like Sills and Betteridge, The Dambusters Inn, and Witham Oil are keen sponsors. The Rose Window received its sponsorship today! Also thanks to 'Hearing Star' and 'PING (Europe)' for sponsoring two of the Red Arrows on the window, The Bomber Command Memorial London for making a pledge to sponsor the RAF badge, and an anonymous donor for making a pledge to sponsor the Lancaster.
If you would like to sponsor a pane of glass on the window or know of a company that might wish to do so then the sponsorship key is illustrated below.
Scampton Church / School partnership
Thanks to everyone from Scampton Church who filled a shoebox with toys for under priviledged children around the world. They were taken to Scampton School and a human chain was formed by all the children in the school to convey them all from the assembly hall to the waiting collection van.
