Hello Everyone…
The bible starts: ‘In the beginning’, which Julie Andrews suggests ‘is a very good place to start’.
They say a journey starts with movement which leads to discovery, which leads to transition. But of course it isn’t always a smooth move from one to another - there are sometimes hiccups along the way. We’ve had almost a year-long hiccup! Things haven’t gone to plan and crossroads have needed deep thinking.

So let’s pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and start all over again!

And that’s the philosophy behind zooming live our February family service!

We have SO missed seeing you every month; catching up with your news, hearing all the good things you are doing - or perhaps giving you an ear in difficult times, laughing together, praising God in song and learning about Him and his plans for us.
So please join us for this service. The Zoom link is but if you're not sure what to do then either ring me on 01522 730167 or email me  and I will explain. The service will start at 10.15 but join us from 10 with your coffee and biscuits.

If you can’t join us, chin up and remember that God loves you!
Stay safe.

Valentines Day Reminder

Much love an blessings to you all at Scampers - Celeen

Lots of people have been popping into church over the Christmas period and donating much needed food, but the box is now empty.  If you would like to help take the food into town then contact Sue. We invite you to grab a tin from your kitchen cupboard, and then place it into the ('BAT BOX') in the porch of church. We call it the Bring a Tin ('BAT') initiative. We send the food to The Lincoln Community Larder, and other food banks, whose aim is to provide basic food for people in crisis. Lincoln Larder do this by issuing Larder Vouchers to a variety of agencies in the area who then refer people to them who are in need of assistance in the form of food. The larder provide 3 days worth of food for each person included on the voucher.
Lincoln Larder give advice about the best tins required by them here.

Let's create something brilliant

The Scampton Church Community Nativity Video was really popular and we had some great feedback saying how much you enjoyed creating your video clip and sending it in. So... we thought we would do it again, but this time ask you to create a dance video.

Here's what we would like you to do:
1. Watch this video on You Tube. It's called 'Every Move I Make'
2. Either copy some (or all) of the dance moves whilst watching the video, or make your own dance moves up.
3. After a few practices, get someone to video you dancing. Video it in landscape - that means holding your phone horizontally. Make sure the You Tube video is playing in the background as this makes it easier to edit our dance video together.
4. Send your video to - ('We Transfer' is a good medium for sending videos via e mail) or Whats App, to 07870665245 by Friday 5th March.
5. We will show the completed dance video on Mothering Sunday.
RAF Stained Glass Window - Update

We are now fundraising to develop a  Community Church and RAF Commonwealth War Graves Heritage Centre, by the installation of an accessible toilet, kitchen and central heating. We have the support of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission who have chosen Scampton as a focus site for 2021.

The window will, hopefully, be installed this Summer and we look forward to welcoming you to visit the church and see the window, and the RAF chapel in our beautiful 14th century grade II* (at risk) listed building that watches over our 107 Commonwealth War and RAF Service Graves .

To this end, the invitation to sponsor a pane of glass will continue.
Valentine’s Day, February 14th, is a day that focuses on love; usually on romantic love, but we can also celebrate friendship and family love. Maybe you know of someone who would like to sponsor a pane of glass and dedicate it to a loved one? If so, please be encouraged to share this message with them. When the facilities are installed you will then be able to visit the church building 'in comfort'!

Litter Pickers
Thank you to those people in the village who have been out litter picking whilst on their daily walk. Southings Lane in particular has seen an increase in fly tipping and litter over the last couple of months. Please remember to use a litter picker and wear appropriate clothing. West Lindsey Council advise not to touch any fly tipped material as it may be hazardous - instead report it to them here.
