Programming, Closings, and Website Updates
As we're sure you're aware, next week is vacation week! We hope that you and your families are able to have a restful, fun time off. If you are looking for programming to keep your children engaged and entertained, the Louttit Library is here to offer just that. Sign up for any of our programs listed below.
To start the week off, though, the library will be closed for President's Day onMonday, February 15. The Louttit Library website is also currently under construction. WEDNESDAY: Tissue Paper Lanterns On Wednesday, February 17 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. join Ms. Stephanie on Zoom for making lanterns out of modgpodge, tissue paper, and an LED light. Registration is required; supplies will be available for pick up the before the program. Grades 3 and up. Email Ms. Stephanie to sign up.
WEDNESDAY: Splatter Paint Pouches
On Wednesday, February 17 from 2-3 p.m. join Ms. Stephanie on Zoom for decorating canvas with paint splatter and cut out shapes. Registration is required; supplies will be available for pick up the before the program. Grades 6 and up. Email Ms. Stephanie to sign up.
THURSDAY: Life Cycle of Frogs Ready to learn all about frogs (and meet one virtually too)? On Thursday, February 18 at 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. the Audubon Society of Rhode Island is presenting the Life Cycle of Frogs in a virtual program from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Recommended for grades K-3 (families always welcome). Email Ms. Stephanie to sign up.
THURSDAY: Take-Home Crafts Every Thursday, Ms. Stephanie also puts together simple and creative arts and craft projects ready to be assembled at home. NOTE: The crafts go fast and are given out on a first come, first served basis.
Take-Home Storytime Sticking around the house for vacation? Stop by to grab a Take-Home Storytime bundle from Ms. Stephanie. Each kit usually includes books, song sheets, puzzles, booklets, and crafts.
Do your little ones have plenty of pent-up energy? Prepare to get silly while also learning: join Ms. Stephanie as she reads a few very silly stories for this week's installment of virtual storytime.
Middle grade readers (grades 3-7): looking for a book to read while on vacation? Our children's librarian has a new read for you that is perfect for fans of Harry Potter! Listen as Ms. Stephanie reads the first chapter of Amari and the Night Brothers by B. B. Alston.
