Staff Picks

Mickenzie's Pick

The Night of the Tearling by Erika Johansen

"In a tale of unwanted rags to riches, a young isolated girl must find a way to lead and protect a kingdom she just discovered was hers. I was surprised at how involved I became with the story and it is one I often think of."
Rachel's Pick

Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus

"Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus is a charming, quirky novel about a brilliant female chemist in the very non-feminist 1950's.  While Elizabeth Zott is not appreciated in the scientific community, she finds herself having a life in chemistry in the most unexpected ways; raising a daughter, hosting a cooking show.  If you enjoyed "Where'd You Go, Bernadette" by Maria Semple, you will enjoy this book too."
