Wresting Meet at Soaring Heights
Monday, February 28th

Dear Soaring Heights Families,

It's been a busy week here at Soaring Heights! Students enjoyed their Valentine's Day parties on Monday. It was wonderful to see our middle school choir students deliver over 90 Singing Valentines to students and classrooms.

Our wrestling team is off to a great start with a strong finish at their second match of the season at Mead on Monday. Our Vex IQ robotics team participated in their final tournament this past weekend. We have 11 teams in total who qualified for the state championships in their respective levels. We are excited to host the Vex IQ State Tournament on Saturday, February 26.

Talent show tryouts took place on Wednesday and Thursday. This is a great opportunity for our awesome students to share their amazing talents. Talent Show rehearsals are next week on Wednesday, February 23 from 4-7 pm for our Grades PK-3 and Thursday, February 24 from 4-7 pm for Grades 4-8.

We are wrapping our PTO's "Spread the Love" Food Drive this week. Thank you to everyone who participated.  We were able to collect over 250lbs of food for the Erie Food Bank.

As always, we appreciate your support and partnership. We are wishing everyone a wonderful long weekend.

Best wishes,

Cyrus Weinberger, Principal
Meghan Quirk, Assistant Principal
Krystal Trinkler, Dean of Students
Matt Romig, Dean of Students

Crossing Safety Reminders!

Please remind your students to use caution as they cross intersections.
  • Walk through intersection when crossing guard signals to do so
  • Dismount from scooters and bikes
  • Pay attention to signal at Colliers Hill and County Rd 5
There will be increased dump truck traffic on the roads near Soaring Heights (Colliers Parkway, CR 5, Erie Parkway, CR7 and CR 10) for the next several weeks between 9 am and 3 pm.  The construction company developing the land south of Erie High School  is in the process of bringing suitable fill dirt to their construction site.  Please use extra caution traveling in this area.
***Important Drive Line Reminders***

Please pick up your students in designated areas only.  Picking up your student on County Road 5 or in our round about compromises the safety of our students.  Parents with students needing help exiting the vehicle should park in our parking lot or use the new lot at Erie High School (end of the day only at EHS).

Please leave cones in place and follow the traffic flow.

Thank you for your cooperation

Hello Soaring Heights Families!

Starting next week, for the month of February, your child (K-5th grade) has the option to participate in the 5210+ challenge sponsored by the Healthy Kids Club of UC Health.  Student calendars were sent home this week.   This is an optional activity where your child can earn a t-shirt for their participation (80 checks) and possible prize money to put towards wellness initiatives for our school.   Once your child has completed the calendar at the end of the month, there is a link at the bottom of the calendar where you check in your child's participation.   If you didn't see the green calendar come in your child's folder this week, I've included the links where you can access the calendar and print off at home.
