Registration for 8th grade Track opens
Dear Soaring Heights Families,

It has been wonderful having our middle schoolers back 4 days a week. Our 7th graders have been working on a design project about how to stop invasive species in the ocean. Our Elementary students continue to work on grade level content and have been visiting the Maker Space this week to work on their Innovation projects.  We can feel the excitement and energy throughout the hallways and classrooms which has made this week enjoyable.

Soaring Heights will be hosting a 2nd Virtual Robotics Competition this Saturday. We are also pleased to offer an 8th grade track season, which will begin April 19th. Track registration opens on Thursday, April 8th. Additional details regarding 8th grade track is included below.

As we move into the final weeks of school, keeping up with our strong momentum is important. Please continue to encourage your student to participate in class, work hard and stay on course. As we near the end of the 20-21 school year, we have accomplished so much during this difficult and ever changing time.

CMAS for 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th 7th & 8th grade will begin testing on April 12th. Please look for a detail letter on Friday with the schedule of dates and times. This year there will be an adjusted testing schedule with one subject tested per grade level for grades 3-7. 8th grade will be tested in two subjects.

We are excited to have our middle school students start registering for electives. The registration window will be open for two weeks and will require parent approval. This year due to limitations of in-person gatherings, students will be able to register at school or at home.  Please review the timeline and process listed below and let us know if you have any questions or need support.
  • Administration and counseling staff visited 5th grade classrooms on Thursday, 4/1 to walk students through registration in Infinite Campus.
  • Current 6th and 7th graders will have an opportunity to enter their elective course choices during their Innovation class on 4.5.21.
  • The registration window will remain open until 4.16.21.  If a student needs to register while at home, you can follow the video that walks students through requesting electives.  We will post the video on our website under Registration>Middle School>Middle School Resource Page.
  • All elective course choices received during the window, will have the same chances of being accepted.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact the school office or myself as we are always happy to help. Have a wonderful weekend.

Best wishes,
Cyrus Weinberger, Principal

Important Drive Line Reminders

We appreciate your help and support as we work to smooth out our pick-up and drop-off procedures.  We have had some near accidents on County Road 5 and as result have created some new procedures in consultation with local law enforcement and our SVVSD safety manager.  Please use the procedures below along with the attached map to review the safest route for entering the school.

  • Cars may enter the Soaring Heights campus through the designated turn lane only (do not use the main northbound through lane to turn into the school)

  • Access outside of the turn lane will be coned off

  • Kindergarten and preschool parents may merge into the second lane in the roundabout to access the kindergarten/preschool parking lot after entering campus

  • Be extra careful when making a left at the intersection of Colliers Pkwy and County Road 5 as this is a major crossing for our students

Thank you for following these procedures.  Please remember to place a sign with student name and teacher on your windshield.  Parents may also use the high school bus loop to park after 8:00 am and after 3:00 pm.

Please take a moment to review this visual to help understand how the Drive Line works when dropping off and picking up students at Soaring Heights.
