Greetings Soaring Heights Families,

As we welcome the cooler weather it has been wonderful to see the students continue settling into the school year. Volleyball games have been exciting to watch. It is fantastic to watch our players grow in their confidence and skill.  The Cross Country team had their first meet this week with 14 participants. We had one top ten finisher and multiple students who finished in the top 50.  There will be two Cross Country meets next week:  Monday at Twin Peaks Classical Academy and Friday at Lyons Senior High School for the St. Vrain Invitational.

Please make sure to send a water bottle with your child every day with their name on it. Our water fountains are available for water bottle refills only.

The deadline to pay for iPad insurance is September 15th.  We highly encourage ALL families to participate in the insurance program.  It is the most cost effective way to offset any unforeseen damages to your students iPad.

Elementary individual pictures will take place on Monday and Tuesday.  Any middle school students who did not have their photo taken in August will also have their photo taken.

We are looking forward to our Jog-A-Thon and Color Run on September 23.  More information will be coming soon!

Enjoy the weekend!  Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Best Wishes,
Cyrus Weinberger, Principal

Thank you for your partnership and supporting the academic growth, safety, and well-being of our students. Every year, St. Vrain Valley Schools prints an up-to-date version of the Code of Conduct for students and families to review. This important document guides students and school staff on what expectations for school conduct and the consequences for behaviors that fall outside of those expectations. It is important that families review this information every year and acknowledge their receipt and understanding of this document.

To this end, please click here to access an electronic version of the Code of Conduct for the current school year. After you have reviewed this information, all families must sign an electronic acknowledgement that they have received, read, and understand the information contained, including the Annual Notification to Parents/Guardians; Behavioral Code of Conduct; Rights and Responsibilities of Students and Parents; and Board of Education Policies book. To sign your electronic acknowledgement, please follow the steps described here.

Spirit Week September 19-23
St. Vrain Valley Schools recognizes the importance of being present every day. Student attendance – more than a test score or any other data point – is one of the most accurate indicators of whether a student will graduate and find success after high school. Students who have regular attendance in kindergarten and first grade are far more likely to be at or above grade-level in third grade and in later grades, score much higher in essential math and reading assessments. It is critical for students to attend school daily in order to acquire the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to be college and career ready.

For more information about district attendance policies, please visit the attendance page on the district website.

To report an absence at Soaring Heights, please complete the Report an Absence form or call 303-702-8020.  More information can be found on the attendance page on the Soaring Heights website.

UNIVERSAL FREE MEALS HAVE EXPIRED FOR THE 22/23 SCHOOL YEAR. Upon the start of the school year, students will be charged for lunch unless they qualify for free or reduced-price meals. We are encouraging families to apply for meal benefits for the 2022–2023 school year  to ensure negative balances do not accrue on students’ accounts.

Applying online is the fastest way to get your application processed to ensure no lapse in coverage happens. Applying online also reduces the chance for errors and the need to send applications back to families to correct.

If you do not believe you qualify for free or reduced-price meals, please make sure that there is money on your students’ accounts. You can add money to their account through MySchoolBucks

For more information, please visit the Nutrition Serivces website.
