14th Annual Tribute to Teachers

Friday, April 30
NO SCHOOL - Non-Student Contact Day
Dear Soaring Heights Families,

We have a lot to celebrate this week. Our state championship robotics team was recognized by the School Board on Wednesday evening. A special congratulations to Team 52800A for their outstanding performance and dedication throughout the robotics competition season. We are looking forward to hosting the State Vex IQ competition this weekend at Soaring Heights. We just finished CMAS testing and are completing make-ups.  Thank you for your support with ensuring our students did their best during this testing week.

We would also like to recognize the following individuals as they have been nominated for Teacher of the Year award. Mrs. Baldivia teaches Middle School Social Studies. Mr. Buckley teaches Special Education and Mr. Burrous teaches 2nd Grade. These teachers have been nominated for Teacher of the Year for their excellence and extraordinary impact on the achievements of students. The list of nominations was long this year and we are proud of all of our teachers. The Education Foundation and the community will be honoring the accomplishments of these teachers during the Virtual Tribute to Teachers hosted on Friday, April 23rd at 6:30 PM. Elementary Parents will be receiving a class placement survey on Friday, April 16th. This survey is meant to help us make class lists.
We do not take requests for specific teachers; however, your input does carry significant weight and will help to ensure we find a good match for your child. Placements are based on a variety of factors including: student need, balanced classes, and input from parents and teachers.

As we begin to place students in classes for next year, it would be helpful for you to describe the learning needs of your child. Is there anything you would like the school to know about how your child learns or any special circumstance we should be aware of? Thank you for providing this information. Please submit your form no later than April 30th.

Incoming Kindergarten parents will also be receiving a welcome email outlining everything needed to know to have a successful start to the 21-22 school year.

The window for Middle School class registration closes on Friday, April 16th. Please contact the school at 303-702-8020 if you encounter issues or have questions. We are still accepting Middle School Project Launch registrations. For additional information on this academic summer program, please see below. Thank you for your contributions and support as we continue with momentum into the final weeks of the school year. Have a wonderful weekend.

Best wishes,
Cyrus Weinberger, Principal

Curbside Meals on Fridays

Location: Soaring Heights

Soaring Heights will be offering curbside meals from 11:00am - 12:30pm

Important Drive Line Reminders

We appreciate your help and support as we work to smooth out our pick-up and drop-off procedures.  We have had some near accidents on County Road 5 and as result have created some new procedures in consultation with local law enforcement and our SVVSD safety manager.  Please use the procedures below along with the attached map to review the safest route for entering the school.

  • Cars may enter the Soaring Heights campus through the designated turn lane only (do not use the main northbound through lane to turn into the school)

  • Access outside of the turn lane will be coned off

  • Kindergarten and preschool parents may merge into the second lane in the roundabout to access the kindergarten/preschool parking lot after entering campus

  • Be extra careful when making a left at the intersection of Colliers Pkwy and County Road 5 as this is a major crossing for our students

Thank you for following these procedures.  Please remember to place a sign with student name and teacher on your windshield.  Parents may also use the high school bus loop to park after 8:00 am and after 3:00 pm.

Please take a moment to review this visual to help understand how the Drive Line works when dropping off and picking up students at Soaring Heights.
