Dear Soaring Heights Families,

It has been an exhilarating start to 2022. As we complete our first week back in this new semester it is wonderful to see students jumping right back into routines and instruction with their classmates. Please remember that District offices and schools will be closed on Monday, January 17, 2022 in honor of Martin Luther King Jr Day.

In our District publication “ ST. VRAINNOVATION” our superintendent, Dr. Don Haddad has written an article entitled “Public Education, Our Greatest Investment.” In this article the ideas shared highlight the importance of investing in our public schools and the great return that is seen when as a community we come together. This year we continue to build and strengthen our community here at Soaring Heights to provide a strong path of success for our students.

This week we were able to celebrate students who earned a place on the honor roll for the second quarter. Links to the videos have been sent and you can also access these in this newsletter.

As a school we are continuing our focus on “Strength of Character” campaign. We will be encouraging our students in how they can be the best members of our community as possible through honesty, integrity, and responsibility. This includes at the middle level developing personal and academic goals to focus on the second part of their year.

Please remember to send your student with warm clothes for the early mornings and recesses as the days of inclement weather increase.

Please know we are committed to supporting each other and the continued success of Soaring Heights PK-8 students and staff. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Meghan Quirk, Assistant Principal
Krystal Trinkler, Dean of Students
