Dear Soaring Heights Families,

This week we have been warming up with bright and energized learning. Elementary students continue to celebrate kindness and generosity in their classrooms as Middle School students are highlighting self-awareness strategies.

Just a reminder to join us for a walk through the luminary event in celebration of Hope and Gratitude on March 4th on Briggs Street in downtown Erie. This is an opportunity to highlight the hopes and gratitude of our students here at Soaring Heights PK-8 along with other elementary students in our community.

The State Championship for VEX IQ robotics will be held at Soaring Heights this weekend Saturday, February 26, 2022. There will be 48 teams from across the state competing and 11 of these teams are from Soaring Heights–Congratulations!

Below we have included the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) summary of the various drills that we are conducting throughout the year. Recently, we had our second Lockdown drill which ran very smoothly as we reviewed with students and staff the procedure. Below you will see the language that is used during these drills.

Please remind your students to bring charged iPads to school everyday. This is very important for student success each day with their assignments and assessments.

Thank you for your continued partnership in our community. We value our relationships with parents, students and the community.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Best wishes,

Matt Romig, Dean of Students
Krystal Trinkler, Dean of Students
Meghan Quirk, Assistant Principal
Cyrus Weinberger, Principal

Our Soaring Heights Robotics Teams will be competing at the VEX State Competition at Soaring Heights this Saturday.  Competition begins at 10:30.  Come out and support our fantastic teams! Good Luck Eagles!
Our Hope & Gratitude Project event is coming up Friday, March 4th! We hope to see you all there. This year we are holding this as a community event on Briggs Street. We have three other schools participating. The idea is to have students make luminaries with things they’re hopeful and grateful for written on them. Families and community members can come walk through the luminaries and hear some of the things our school communities are hopeful and grateful for.

We need VOLUNTEERS for set up, especially, but also for clean up. Please sign up here if you can help: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F4EACAD2DABF4C70-hope

Set up will be from 2-5:30pm, the event is 5:30-7:30pm and clean up will happen after that until 8pm!

We'd like to give a big shout out to our event sponsors, Town of Erie, Colorado - Government and 24 Carrot Bistro - We couldn't have planned this event without your sponsorships!

We'd also like to acknowledge these awesome businesses along Briggs St. who are partnering with us for a Dine-to-Donate on the night of the event. A percentage of sales from 4-9pm will be split between the 5 participating schools!

* Azteca
* Eat at Birdhouse
* Echo Brewing and Pizzeria
* The Old Mine Cider Company
* Sweets Ice Cream
* Piripi

Soaring Heights PK-8 and Highlands Elementary have planned this event and the other schools we have participating are Black Rock Elementary, Erie Middle School, & Red Hawk Elementary. We can't wait to work with you!
