Parent/Teacher Conferences- SAVE THE DATES

October 10, 11 & 12

Dear Soaring Heights Families,

This week has been full of Spirit–from favorite pajamas to dressing as your favorite era!  We are looking forward to the Jog-a-thon and Color Run on Friday to celebrate with the students. Please see the information below from our PTO as well as the schedule for the Jog-a-thon.

Volleyball and Cross-Country have continued to have wonderful seasons. Please see below for upcoming events. We are so proud of the students and their individual and team accomplishments. As we mentioned last week, attendance is an important part of a successful school year for each student. Thank you for your partnership to support students' consistent attendance each day.

Student-led Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held in person on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (October 10, 11, 12) for all grades PK-8. Please look for information and sign up to be shared soon. Conferences are an opportunity for you to connect with your child’s teacher and discuss the progress of your child.  We will be sending a Goal Setting Form next week to help communicate with your child's teacher.

A few reminders as we head into Fall. Please help your student plan accordingly with the weather changes.  Please label all personal belongings with your student’s first and last names.

Our Superintendent Town Hall Meeting will be Thursday, September 29, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Erie High School.

It is a joy and pleasure to be a part of the Soaring Heights’ community and your partnership and contributions are sincerely appreciated.

We hope to see you Friday.

Best Wishes,
Cyrus Weinberger, Principal

Jog-A-Thon and Color Run September 23

We are excited for our PTO fundraiser! Please register your student here ASAP. If you already have a FundHub account from last year, you will just need to log in by using the button in the upper right corner, then click "Add to current event" to add this year's Jog-a-thon/Color Run for each of the children on your account.

You may start sharing and accepting donations once the registration is complete. We ask students/parents to reach out to family, friends, and associates to “sponsor” their running around the track. The Jog-A-Thon is for students PK-5 and, to make it a little different, we do a Color Run for 6th-8th graders.

  • Event Day Schedule (Friday, September 23, 2022)

    • Parents can come and cheer on their students and some even run with their students! After their run, students enjoy an Otter Pop before they head back to class. We highly encourage all students to wear clothing and shoes suitable for running!

Thank you for your partnership and supporting the academic growth, safety, and well-being of our students. Every year, St. Vrain Valley Schools prints an up-to-date version of the Code of Conduct for students and families to review. This important document guides students and school staff on what expectations for school conduct and the consequences for behaviors that fall outside of those expectations. It is important that families review this information every year and acknowledge their receipt and understanding of this document.

To this end, please click here to access an electronic version of the Code of Conduct for the current school year. After you have reviewed this information, all families must sign an electronic acknowledgement that they have received, read, and understand the information contained, including the Annual Notification to Parents/Guardians; Behavioral Code of Conduct; Rights and Responsibilities of Students and Parents; and Board of Education Policies book. To sign your electronic acknowledgement, please follow the steps described here.

UNIVERSAL FREE MEALS HAVE EXPIRED FOR THE 22/23 SCHOOL YEAR. Upon the start of the school year, students will be charged for lunch unless they qualify for free or reduced-price meals. We are encouraging families to apply for meal benefits for the 2022–2023 school year  to ensure negative balances do not accrue on students’ accounts.

Applying online is the fastest way to get your application processed to ensure no lapse in coverage happens. Applying online also reduces the chance for errors and the need to send applications back to families to correct.

If you do not believe you qualify for free or reduced-price meals, please make sure that there is money on your students’ accounts. You can add money to their account through MySchoolBucks

For more information, please visit the Nutrition Serivces website.
