Dear Soaring Heights Families,

The sound of a trumpet pierces the air followed by the strum of a banjo and the rumbling sound of a tuba.  Students dance and jump as they listen to the music of a New Orleans brass band.  Our elementary students had a lot of fun at All School Movement as we celebrated Black History month by learning about the musical history of New Orleans.

We enjoyed seeing everyone at parent-teacher conferences.  It was amazing to hear about the tremendous growth of our students.  You should have a clear understanding of where your child is academically and socially along with specific goals to focus on for the remainder of the year.  Please let us know if you have questions or need further direction. Thank you to everyone who participated—we are very proud of your children.

Our wrestling team is off to a great start after their first match on Monday.  Our Vex IQ robotics teams are headed to Prairie Ridge for the final tournament season, while our EDR teams are traveling Flagstaff.  All of our teams are looking to qualify for the state tournaments.  Stay tuned for a tally of which teams qualify.

Love is in the air with our Valentine’s Day parties taking place on Monday, February 14.  Elementary students will enjoy a healthy snack.  Please work with your classroom teacher for more details.  Middle school students will be celebrating during Innovation class with activities designed by our student leadership team.  Students may also purchase Singing Valentines.  Please do not send candy with your Valentines.

PTO's "Spread the Love" Food Drive is next week, February 14-17.  Please see below for more information.

Our Talent show registration is underway.  This is a fun opportunity for students to share their talents and passions. Please take the time to register.

Thank you for all the amazing support.  Our staff truly appreciates the amazing meals provided by our PTO during conferences. Please let us know if you need anything.

Best wishes,

Cyrus Weinberger, Principal
Meghan Quirk, Assistant Principal
Krystal Trinkler, Dean of Students
Matt Romig, Dean of Students

A HUGE thank you to our Counseling Team during National Counselors Week!

There will be increased dump truck traffic on the roads near Soaring Heights (Colliers Parkway, CR 5, Erie Parkway, CR7 and CR 10) for the next several weeks between 9 am and 3 pm.  The construction company developing the land south of Erie High School  is in the process of bringing suitable fill dirt to their construction site.  Please use extra caution traveling in this area.

***Important Drive Line Reminders***

Please pick up your students in designated areas only.  Picking up your student on County Road 5 or in our round about compromises the safety of our students.  Parents with students needing help exiting the vehicle should park in our parking lot or use the new lot at Erie High School (end of the day only at EHS).

Please leave cones in place and follow the traffic flow.

Thank you for your cooperation

Hello Soaring Heights Families!

Starting next week, for the month of February, your child (K-5th grade) has the option to participate in the 5210+ challenge sponsored by the Healthy Kids Club of UC Health.  Student calendars were sent home this week.   This is an optional activity where your child can earn a t-shirt for their participation (80 checks) and possible prize money to put towards wellness initiatives for our school.   Once your child has completed the calendar at the end of the month, there is a link at the bottom of the calendar where you check in your child's participation.   If you didn't see the green calendar come in your child's folder this week, I've included the links where you can access the calendar and print off at home.
