Dear Soaring Heights Parents:

We are a month into the 2022-23 school year and off to a great start. The support from our school community is always outstanding and a huge part of Soaring Heights' success. We would like to thank our PTO for all their support as we start the school year. Our Jog-a-Thon has kicked off and this is the PTO's primary fundraiser to support our school.  Please see information below for details.

We would like to thank all the parents that attended the Back to School nights. As previously mentioned, a huge part of our success is dependent on parent support and partnership in the child's education. The turnout was extremely exceptional and this speaks to the strength of our school community.

Soaring Heights was again recognized by the Colorado Department of Education as an exceptional school.  The ratings are based on reading and math proficiency and reading and math performance. We are proud of our achievement and we’ll continue to strive for excellence.

Throughout the school year middle school students have opportunities to get involved in extra-curricular activities. All students are highly encouraged to get involved in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Research shows that students involved in extracurricular or co-curricular activities have higher grades and are engaged in school more than those who do not participate.  There are many programs, teams, and clubs in which students can participate.

Did you know the number one factor in a child's educational success is their attendance? Attendance and being on time to class are very important factors in a student’s success. The teachers develop extensive lesson plans for every class period and day. When a student misses a class or day of school they miss valuable learning opportunities. Parents are asked to encourage their children to be punctual and have students at school on time and ready to learn.  For Middle School students and families, Infinite Campus and Scoology are the online programs parents and students can access to monitor grades, assignments, and attendance. Let’s work together to have a great year.

To learn more about the Erie feeder and share your perspective about programming, we hope to see you at the Superintendent Town Hall Meeting on September 29 at Erie High School.

We look forward to a school year filled with learning, successes, and memorable times for the student body of Soaring Heights PK-8 School.

Best Wishes,
Cyrus Weinberger, Principal

Jog-A-Thon and Color Run September 23

We are excited for our PTO fundraiser! Please register your student here ASAP. If you already have a FundHub account from last year, you will just need to log in by using the button in the upper right corner, then click "Add to current event" to add this year's Jog-a-thon/Color Run for each of the children on your account.

You may start sharing and accepting donations once the registration is complete. We ask students/parents to reach out to family, friends, and associates to “sponsor” their running around the track. The Jog-A-Thon is for students PK-5 and, to make it a little different, we do a Color Run for 6th-8th graders.

  • Event Day Schedule (Friday, September 23, 2022)

    • Parents can come and cheer on their students and some even run with their students! After their run, students enjoy an Otter Pop before they head back to class. We highly encourage all students to wear clothing and shoes suitable for running!

Thank you for your partnership and supporting the academic growth, safety, and well-being of our students. Every year, St. Vrain Valley Schools prints an up-to-date version of the Code of Conduct for students and families to review. This important document guides students and school staff on what expectations for school conduct and the consequences for behaviors that fall outside of those expectations. It is important that families review this information every year and acknowledge their receipt and understanding of this document.

To this end, please click here to access an electronic version of the Code of Conduct for the current school year. After you have reviewed this information, all families must sign an electronic acknowledgement that they have received, read, and understand the information contained, including the Annual Notification to Parents/Guardians; Behavioral Code of Conduct; Rights and Responsibilities of Students and Parents; and Board of Education Policies book. To sign your electronic acknowledgement, please follow the steps described here.

UNIVERSAL FREE MEALS HAVE EXPIRED FOR THE 22/23 SCHOOL YEAR. Upon the start of the school year, students will be charged for lunch unless they qualify for free or reduced-price meals. We are encouraging families to apply for meal benefits for the 2022–2023 school year  to ensure negative balances do not accrue on students’ accounts.

Applying online is the fastest way to get your application processed to ensure no lapse in coverage happens. Applying online also reduces the chance for errors and the need to send applications back to families to correct.

If you do not believe you qualify for free or reduced-price meals, please make sure that there is money on your students’ accounts. You can add money to their account through MySchoolBucks

For more information, please visit the Nutrition Serivces website.
