Medical Society Consortium on Climate & Health.

Help support an important climate & health meeting.

Dear <<First Name>> <<Last Name>>,

We request your support for an important upcoming climate and health meeting. This spring, the Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health (the Consortium) was launched to start a conversation with the American public and policymakers about the health harms of climate change and the health benefits of climate solutions, and to build support for solutions.

The Consortium has grown rapidly and now include 19 medical societies, collectively representing over half the physicians in America.

Our first report—“Medical Alert! Climate Change is Harming Our Health”—highlights some of the profound threats climate change poses to human health, especially for the most vulnerable populations (including our children, those who are sick, elderly and, and our poor).

The Consortium will be having its 1st Annual Meeting in Arlington, Virginia on April 8-10, 2018. We anticipate participation by leaders and key staff of our member and affiliate societies, and by our medical advocates for climate and health.

Organizations that have already committed to co-sponsor the meeting are the Kresge Foundation, Johnson & Johnson, and the Walgreens Boots Alliance. We are seeking an additional $75,000 in sponsorship revenue to ensure the success of the meeting.

Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss this opportunity, or to speak more generally about the Consortium.
