Shaun Haines for SF DCCC Kick-Off

  • El Rio | 3158 Mission Street | San Francisco, CA 94110
Sunday, January 19, 2020, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM (PST)

As a native and resident of San Francisco, I am here as your neighbor to ask that we work together. We can and we will engage in the efforts to protect our city, our people and work together to address our biggest problems.

I'm here and have been working on your behalf and working to serve San Franciscans. Focusing on addressing the issues for everyone – from those of us living on our streets to those of us safe and secure in our housing.

I am a fighter and have survived through great hardship and disparities – like poverty and homelessness. Because of these experiences, I worked hard to have become your advocate.

Serving seven years an Associate Member of our San Francisco Democratic Party (DCCC – Democratic Central Countee Committee), a former Delegate of our California State Democratic Committee, Founder and President San Francisco Black Community Matters – A Chartered San Francisco Democratic Club, founder and Executive Director of San Francisco Impact Partners – an organization focused on issues concerning poverty and homelessness.  You can learn more about my years of civic service here.

Unified, we must come together to address the toughest problems that affect our city and our people and the Democracy of the United States of America.  We share so many of the same concerns, questions, and values. They often include:

  • How we will work to build stronger and safer communities with more affordable housing
  • How we will work to ensure our families are healthy
  • How we will work ensure access to an affordable education
  • How we will work to create new and accessible economic opportunities at livable wages, and…
  • How we will work to restore and grow our city’s cultural diversity, for everyone.

As a result of the widespread social injustice, and inequality.

We can no longer stand idly by.

March 3rd, 2020 please allow me to serve.

To succeed in our mission, we need to elect some fresh faces to the leadership of our democracy.

Please consider granting me – just one 1 of your 14 votes.

Can I count on you?

Endorsement Alert: Shaun Haines 力是亮 For DCCC 2020 is proud to announce that our candidacy has received the support of Mayor London Breed 倫敦.布里德.

Like our Mayor, I am a native of SF that grew up in District 5. I am proud of this, my third political endorsement over 7 years from the time she was my Supervisor.

London has been a consistent supporter and she recognizes the value of bringing in underrepresented experiences into the leadership of the DCCC.

Beyond the labels of progressive v.s moderate – she sees me for who I am and what I’ve been through and knows that the courage to persevere through hardships like homelessness and still be a mover and shaker is something we need in our political leadership.

No obstacle has ever shut me down and despite every challenge, I have made valuable contributions to this city.

Thank you for your support!

Endorsement Alert: Shaun Haines 力是亮 For DCCC 2020 is proud to announce that our candidacy has received the support of Malia Cohen 郭嫻 – Chair of the California State Board of Equalization, Former Board of Supervisors President and District 10 Supervisor. I learned a lot from Malia over the years. Like how to captivate an audience with words. Keeping it short and sweet. Malia always reminds me – “you have got to be ON at all times”.

Thanks for keeping me on my toes and for your support.

Endorsement Alert: Shaun Haines 力是亮 For DCCC 2020 is proud to announce that our candidacy has received the support of Assemblymember David Chiu.

Serving the interests and concerns of the African American Community of San Francisco. I have served on Assembly Member David Chui’s African America Advisory Committee for the last four years. As a native of SF. I have focused on securing a future for Black political leadership as the Founder and President of SF Black Community Matters. As well as connecting with our communities in D10, D6, and D5. The neighborhoods I lived in as a child and adult.

Together we have been fighting for the reopening of the Fillmore Heritage Center, Justice for Mario Woods and for Shelter Beds in Bayview. I have been right there beside our community doing the work.

Thank you for your support!

Endorsement Alert: Shaun Haines 力是亮 For DCCC 2020 is proud to announce that our candidacy has received the support of Fiona Ma, California State Treasurer. Grateful to have repeat endorsements. Every-time is like the first time. A hard worker recognizes a hard worker. Fiona recognizes my dedication and commitment to San Francisco and to fundamentally changing the San Francisco Democratic Party. We fight tirelessly for the people but we also know how to have a good time after a long day of service!

Thank you for your support!

 Thank you for your support!

Endorsement Alert: Shaun Haines 力是亮 For DCCC 2020 is proud to announce that our candidacy has received the support of Alex Randolph City College Board of Trustees President.

One day we will see more queer men (and women) of color in our political leadership. We fight for representation not just because we’re queer and or color but because we know first-hand how difficult it is for queer men of color to be empowered to represent from a position of knowledge – not assumption.

Thank you for your support!

Endorsement Alert: Shaun Haines 力是亮 For DCCC 2020 is proud to announce that our candidacy has received the support of Kimberly Ellis. Like Kimberly, a former candidate for the CA State Democratic Party Chair - Shaun’s has been working to address the major challenges in our party around race, class, sex and privilege and how that makes this party an unsafe place for women, minorities and those from lower economics. Shaun and Kimberly’s work has been to address that.

I first met Kimberly at Convention in 2015 after narrowly winning a seat as a delegate. I’ve been a constant supporter of Kimberly as she has been one of my top supporters. As a man of Emerge, I recognize the value in having strong women mentors like Kimberly.

Focusing on addressing the issues for everyone – from those of us living on our streets to those of us safe and secure in our housing.
