Sneak Peek | Amanda Needham Interview
Amanda Needham worked with adidas and Kamp Grizzly to create the gold, glittery looks of Shakira's background dancers at the Super Bowl halftime show. (📸 @itsmeamandaneedham)
One tidbit you may not have caught in the wave of media surrounding last Sunday's Super Bowl halftime show—local costuming queen Amanda Needham helped create the look! Her team had two weeks to create about 15 outfits from initial design to showtime. At first.

As if the year's largest sporting event wasn't enough, the stakes got even higher. Shakira liked her designs so much she wanted all of her dancers to wear them. "Three times the work, same deadline, and–go!" They had to pull off the impossible for an unmovable deadline...

Stay tuned for the full interview tomorrow to hear the whole crazy Super Bowl story, learn how you go about flattening Nasim Pedrad into a teenage boy, and why Oregon keeps a special place in this costume designer's heart.

Wieden + Kennedy produced Super Bowl ads for Coca-Cola and Facebook this year. The Facebook groups mash-up got mixed reviews, but Coca-Cola energy drinks saw a 197% sales increase after the spot aired. Ya win some, ya lose some—right, Missouri?
