Thursday, March 18 | 3-5pm PT | Space is limited

OMPA invites the BIPoC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) community to join us for an evening of self-care and reflection as we approach one year of coping with the pandemic. Join us via Zoom on Thursday, March 18, from 3-5pm PT.

We'll begin with a space for discussion to talk about how we’ve survived, share tactics and resources for maintaining our mental health and general well-being, while building community. The last 30 minutes of the meeting will feature a sound bath led by the amazing Yaara Valey, providing us a moment of self-care to relax and decompress.

RSVP for a limited number of spaces.

Note: COCO is an event by and for communities of color.

Yaara Valey Perczek (they/them) is a multidisciplinary performer and sound artist of Jewish Latinx heritage based in Portland. They utilize looping technology to create luscious vocal-based live transmissions. Yaara trained in movement based expressive arts therapy and their work is centered in somatic reconnection. In addition to their solo work, they collaboratively create work for dance, film, and other performance art projects.

OMPA's monthly meetup for the BIPOC community (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) is now called Creatives of Color Oregon, or COCO for short! This new name better reflects the private nature of this virtual space, compared to the in-person Creatives of Color Collaborative we’ve hosted for the entire production community.
