About the speaker

Helene von Reis

Helene is a senior business leader with big passion for people, communication and sustainability. She has over 25 years of communication and retail experience with IKEA. After completing her university studies within the fields of journalism, marketing and business administration, she worked at IKEA Communications as senior Project Leader.

She is since 2015 the President and CEO of IKEA Japan K.K. and since 2019 also the CSO of IKEA Japan.  As she is an active opinion leader for sustainability and equality in Japan, she led IKEA Japan to achieve 50/50 gender equality for manager levels and received first prize at “Forbes Japan Women Award” in 2017.  She also succeeded in installing solar panels on all 9 IKEA stores and Distribution center operated on 100% renewable electricity.  This year, IKEA Japan received BREEM certification for the Distribution center which made IKEA Japan the very first company to receive it in Japan.

At the 9th CLIC Event, Mr Thomas Döbeli, General Manager of Chopard Japan Ltd., will speak on the topic “How will the luxury industry overcome the coronavirus crisis?”. He will give an overview on the luxury industry and Chopard specifically, address the major trends triggered and accelerated by the coronavirus crisis, and share his views on the future of the luxury industry. Finally, he will introduce concrete examples of Chopard, including a new global campaign to be launched on April 20, 2021, before answering questions from the audience.

About Chopard

About Mr. Thomas Döbeli

Mr. Thomas Döbeli, General Manager at Chopard Japan Ltd., was born in Switzerland in 1973 and graduated from the University of Zurich. He moved to Japan in 2002 and has been working for Chopard since 2014, after positions at other major luxury jewelery and watch brands. He gives guest lectures about the luxury industry and related topics at Hitotsubashi ICS, The Economist, Kyoto University and others. Mr. Döbeli lives with his wife and two kids in the Shonan area, is a member of the SCCIJ and Vice-President of the Japan Swiss Society.

Talk with Mr. Jacob Wallenberg, April 28

Jacob Wallenberg will reflect on the  experiences of the past year from the perspective of the Wallenberg sphere as well as the challenges and opportunities for this year and also consider the opportunities for business in Asia, all in the context of the global challenges. Mr. Jakob Wallenberg

Jacob Wallenberg is Chair of the Board of Investor AB since 2005, a lead shareholder of Nordic-based global companies.
He is Vice Chair of ABB Ltd, Ericsson AB, FAM AB and Patricia Industries.    

Mr. Wallenberg also serves on the Board of Nasdaq Inc and the Board of the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.  He is a Member of the European Round Table for Industry and Member of its Steering Committee, as well as Chair of the ERT Committee on Trade and Market Access. He is also member of the Advisory Board of Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management and member of the Trilateral Commission.  

Mr. Wallenberg is a member of and Honorary Chair of IBLAC, the Mayor of Shanghai’s International Business Leaders Advisory Council.  Jacob Wallenberg was the Chair of Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB) from 1998 to 2005 and Vice Chair from 2005 to 2014. Mr. Wallenberg was the CEO of the Bank in 1997 and EvP and in charge of Corporate and Investment banking 1995-1996.  

Born in Stockholm 1956, Mr. Wallenberg was educated at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1980 and an MBA in 1981.

Mr. Wallenberg attended the Royal Swedish Naval Academy and is today an Officer in the Royal Swedish Naval Reserve.

Manifestum ~ A Bioindustry Business Consultancy

Manifestum is a Latin word that is related to the English word manifesto. It means to make something more understandable or to bring into existence something new. As a bioindustry business consultancy, Manifestum AB has presciently lived up to its namesake by building bridges between European and Japanese bio-businesses.
