Gardens opening in Monmouthshire and Gwent

We’ve been quiet for many months but that’s all about to change...

As the vaccine rollout gathers momentum and cases of new infections abate we can all look to life beyond the hardships of the last 12 months. Wales, the last in the UK to rejoin the open garden world, lifts restrictions on garden openings on 26 April. We’re going to play catch up.

Until 16 May at the earliest visitors must pre-purchase tickets from the NGS website here (or touch the logo above) for a timed slot at a garden of your choice. This is to ensure numbers can be controlled and gardens do not become crowded.

We know now how important it is for our mental and physical health to be outside in the fresh air, so NGS Gwent will be hitting the ground running with openings starting from 11am on 26 April at Woodlands Farm. We are that keen to get outside and start enjoying our beautiful gardens.

Why not combine a pint in your favourite beer garden with a stroll around a NGS Gwent garden? Gardens may reopen on the same day as the pubs in Wales. Want to escape England? That too is permitted. So get clicking and find a garden and date that works for you.

As garden openers cannot serve teas indoors, do take some refreshments with you and enjoy them in the garden unless it is clear that teas are available.

Gardens forced to cancel openings in March and April are offering pop up dates, so take a look below. Don’t forget you need to prebook your timed entrance (until 16 May, at least). Ticket numbers are limited, so book early.

Garden owners throughout Gwent look forward to welcoming you into their beautiful and safe spaces and to raising much needed cash for amazing nursing charities.
